Boutiques vs. ADs
Hi,Forgive me but I don't understand something. Hoping you all can clarify?I was always under the impression that an AD is something like Tourneau or Mayors Jewelers (both of which I have visited locations of.) Several brands such as Rolex, Panerai, IWC, Chopard, Breitling, Tudor, etc under one roof. With a boutique being set up BY the brand to sell only that particular brand?!For instance - AP in NYC on 57th, and the Bal Harbour MIA location. Now, I've been to both and KNOW for a fact that ONLY AP is sold in these boutiques.^^ Those ARE AP boutiques, correct? And, is that logic correct??With that said, and with talk on here of moving toward boutiques and away from ADs - what will happen to stores such as these - of which, again, I have visited every single one in person and KNOW they sell multiple brands in the one store??Swiss Fine Timing - Magnificent Mile, ChicagoExquisite Timepieces - Naples FLHing Wa Lee - Walnut CAWestime - Beverly Hills CAWestime - La Jolla (San Diego) CAThey may
15400 vs 15300 and availability in Dallas or Houston
I'm fairly confident I want to flip my Daytona for a RO. The only problem is...which one? Also, I cannot find a 15300, or even a 15202 for a 39mm size, to try on anywhere in Dallas! Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look? I go to Houston every now and then, so I'd be okay with any suggestions there.I think I'm more of a fan of the dial on the 15400 and colored date wheel, but I still want to see the 15300.My wrist can really support any of them, but I'd love to get opinions of the Forum. Below are wrist shots of the 15400, 15450, and a shot of the daytona and how it looks on my arm. The 15450 isn't under consideration, but it offers some perspective.
Manufactured Movement
Hello Guys,I have been a Rolex owner but recently I took a look (I SHOULD NOT HAVE) at the NEW WAVE SUPEROCEAN ...I fell in LOVE instantly. What is the deal with Manufactured Movement? My friend told me he would never buy a watch without it.. WHat am I missing? What does Breitling have? How is the quality if Breitling and why is it soooo much cheaper than Rolex? In my opinion the NEW WAVE looks better and has better depth rating than a SUB..Fire Away! Thanks,CZ
