Watches NEWS
Panerai Luminor Composite 1950 3 Days – 47mm
One of the hits at SIHH 2010 was Panerai’s Radiomir Composite Marina Militare. For 2011 Panerai presents a new Special Edition in that sought-after material: the Luminor Composite 1950 3 Days – 47mm. The new piece combines the lightness, strength and durability of Panerai Composite with the new hand-wound P.3000 caliber, which is designed and produced in the Officine Panerai manufacture in Neuchatel. Look inside for pricing, availability dates, and wallpaper.Like last year’s Radiomir, the Luminor 1950 case in Panerai Composite measures 47 mm in diameter, a classic size for Panerai watches, and it has a durable, unique matte brown appearance. Made of the same material are the bridge protecting the winding crown with the classic clamping lever and the round bezel which surrounds the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. Water-resistant to 100 meters, the case has the polished crystal back which enables the movement to be seen. The spare dial too is dark brown
Reliability on ROO Diver
How reliable are the ROO divers? I mean any issues I should be concern about? Can the watch/movement take some abuse? I saw this video on youtube which got me thinking: https://.youtube/watch?v=oN4TY7opDyo
LOVE mine
What a beast! As much as I wanted to like the watch the exhibition case back ruins the fit imho. It could have been sooo perfect at ~42mm and with a solid case back! Why Omega!? You managed to stuff that 9300 into the less-cumbersome '57 speedy (41.5mm). Speaking of, I like the '57 speedy but not the PCLs and again with the bubble exhibition case back! That being said it does wear better than the 9300.At first I tried to convince myself that the size was okay and then glaced back into the case to see old reliable 3570.50 in all its warm hesalite glory... All of the sudden the 9300s weren't acceptable anymore. My love for the 3570.50 was rekindled and should be back on my wrist within the next two weeks. In a sense it was a blessing as I’ll be saving enough to buy the 3570.5 outright again. Just have to find that right one at a good price now.
Skydweller wears 42? I don't think so
For the first time tonight I was able to try on a full metal (white gold) Skydweller. (I'd like to try on a SS model, but that ain't happening soon.) I thought that it wore VERY similarly to my SubC, other than the Skydweller being a little thicker. Before trying it on, I thought that it might wear too big at 42mm. I don't think that anymore! Its a great size and very comfortable. I assume the SS model has the same dimensions as the PM model.By the way, the salesman was great! He was wearing a yellow gold GMT that he purchased nine years ago. We talked dial colors, the new movement, Basel, watch style......why can't all AD salesman be like that? Is it worth the price?
