In-Depth: Le Garde Temps C Naissance D'Une Montre, Greubel Forsey's Mission To Protect Traditional Watchmaking
What would happen if traditional watchmaking techniques died out? For Stephen Forsey and Robert Greubel, this thought was anathema. Their namesake company, Gruebel Forsey, relies on these very techniques to produce timepieces that have become lore among modern collectors. If these techniques die out, then their future, and the future of other high-end independents dies out too. So, to prolong these traditions, they joined forces with Philippe Dufour to create an incubator program for fully hand-crafted watchmaking called Naissance d’une Montre. One watchmaker was selected to be the recipient of what is arguably the finest collective of horological knowledge in existence, endowing him with the skills needed to create a watch, by hand, completely from scratch. 2 OF 6 Stephen Forsey, one half of the duo behind Greubel Forsey, describes the importance of safeguarding traditional watchmaking skills: Earlier this year, I had the chance to speak with Stephen Forsey a
My 3rd Audemars Piguet on the way
Hello,Some may remember I previously had a ROO Rubberclad and a BumbleeBee, sold them and went with a more conservative lineup. Well for the past few months I had a Royal Oak itch that needed scratching and finally after reviewing the lineup and doing some research I just negotiated with a well known seller on the boards to get me a AP 15202st.AP as a brand is more the style I like and still prefer it to PP when it comes to sports watches, I gave the nautilus a try and not emotionally connected to the dial nor the bezel. After 2 years of no Audemars Piguet on my wrist I am now awaiting my new special piece which is a 15202st Royal Oak 40th anniversary extra thin.I wouldnt of thought I would go for simple style watches a couple of years back where I had ROO's. Comments on the Omega Vancouver 41mm!
Hey TRFJust wondering if anyone owned the Omega 41mm Vancouver watch? I just bought one to add to my Omega collection and wanted to hear from others on what they think about this watch. I love the red and white combo with the ice blue lumes. I also own a Seamaster Professional circa 2002. It is the most comfortable watch band I own. I wish Rolex made a band as comfortable and heavy duty as the Omega. I know the jubilee is like it, but not quit the same. I my opinion.Thoughts! Comments reviews? Appreciated.Aloha from Kauai.Tom
