Chopard L.U.C. XP Ultra-Slim Watch: Thin Wall Clock Looks On Your Wrist
Slim watches are very chic right now. The diminutive profile on your wrist keeps the watch barley noticeable by the wearer. As fas as slim watches go, anything under 8mm tall on your wrist is considered very thin for a mechanical watch. Quartz watch slimness on the other handwell that is another story. The Chopard L.U.C. XP Ultra-Slim has a lot going for it. The "flat on your wrist" watch houses a splendid, just over 3mm high, Chopard in-house L.U.C. automatic movement with a power reserve of 70 hours. Such a long power reserve in this thin watch is achieved through having two (basically flattened) barrels. The 3.3mm of the movement is very slim for an automatic movement because of the added space the rotor requires over a manually wound movement. The watch itself is only 6.8mm high, and about 39.5mm wide. Next, the L.U.C. XP has that beautifully "size-less" look to it. Meaning that you could blow it up to the size of a wall, or evening building clock, and it would look good. Here you c
Bring a Loupe: A Crazy Rare Zenith El Primero And Five Nicely Priced Chronographs From Wittnauer, Minerva, Mathey-Tissot, And More
This Bring A Loupe will be dedicated entirelely to everyone's favorite complication, the chronograph. You will find an extremely rare (and very exotic looking) Zenith El Primero, the reference G383, produced in only 200 examples in 1970. We also scoured eBay in order to find some relatively affordable chronographs, most of them under $1,000. As you might expect, no Heuer or Universal Geneve made it this week given our budget constraint, but you will discover some other really exciting watches from Wittnauer, Minerva, and Mathey-Tissot. This is your Bring A Loupe for February 19, 2016. A Minerva Chronograph Reference VD712 With A Better Dial Than It Seems 1 OF 8 This Minerva is a good example of a nice looking three-register chronograph that does not break the bank. The Minerva VD712 is powered by the famous Valjoux 72 (also found in vintage Rolex Daytonas) and apparently this chrono was even used by the Swedish army – you can find some great shots of the
1986 or 1987 Omega Speedmaster
This particular Omega is hard to find from what I understand. The information I have aquired has led me to believe it is from 1987 or 1986. It has a gold or champagne face with black bezel. I am not sure if is is a solid gold housing or just plated. 1140DAST 175 003250978101The band has been replaced with a 3rd party leather band. The original band was it shredded. I am looking for any useful information about this model type.. history of he line would be nice, also would this be considered a collectors item?
Is the new Pepsi dressier or sportier than the BLNR?
The jubilee bracelet is dressier, but the red adds sportiness. Thoughts?
Explorer 1 Models (36mm - 39mm)
Think Rolex should have two new models of the Explorer 1:- 39mm with 3230 (chronergy escapement, etc based on 3235)- 36mm with 2232 (syloxi hairspring, etc based on 2236)And I would definitely go for the 36mm (and probably give my trusty 114270 a well deserved vacation)... maybe in Basel 2020?
