Breaking News: SIHH Welcomes Nine New Independent Watch Makers In 2016
SIHH has announced that they will be welcoming nine new independent watch brands to next year's exhibition. There have been rumors of some changes happening at the 2016 SIHH, including layout and design, but now it has been confirmed that the exhibition will be expanding its roster of haute horlogerie firms to include nine more independent brands. These brands are: Christophe Claret, De Bethune, H.Moser & Cie, Hautlence, HYT, Kari Voutilainen, Laurent Ferrier, MB&F, and Urwerk. Additionally, Ralph Lauren will not be showing this year – the company has stated that they wish to focus more on their U.S. market. In an interview with the Swiss publication, Bilan, SIHH states that they have been open to including independent brands in the exhibition since 1998. More information can be found on the SIHH website.
Need help identifying Omega Ladies DeVille Prestige Quartz Small
Hello all,I'm a PO guy, so I'm never in the market for Omega ladies watches. I have the opportunity to purchase a pre-owned Omega DeVille Prestige Quartz Small watch for a really great price. I'm thinking about giving it to my mother. I am meeting with the seller at a local jeweler to remove the caseback to see if it's the 1456 quartz movement. Again, I am not familiar with these types of watches, so I was hoping that someone could offer some information. I would say that this watch was produced in the 90's. I've attached the Omega watch listing, as well as pictures from the seller.Questions I have: What markings should I expect to see on this watch (i.e. on caseback, serial numbers?) during this time period? Has this watch ever been produced with bezel & links having just a gold plating/finish? I wouldn't assume so, but I can't tell if some of the gold has tarnished (the pictures are poor). I apologize in advance for my ignorance on ladies watches! Any help is greatly appreciated!
omega adverts never lie..
they say that adverts never lie..reliability,versatilityqualityas true today as it was all those years ago..
My First Patek!
Picked this beauty up today. Beyond happy.Since the forum isn't letting me upload photos (apparently they're too large?), i put them into an Imgur album here ---> imgur/a/QknaR
Tell me more about this.
Hi everyone,I am just starting to really get into the history of Patek... So naturally I have questions. :PRight down to it, take a look here:clickyHere we have a PP minute repeater pocket watch; however the movement is unsigned by Patek Philippe, what does this mean? How does this affect the watch itself? The servicing on it? How would you steer a young man interested in this? Thanks for reading all.
