Chopard has really done a good job of mixing classic elegance with a timeless appearance in this watch
It is also the certified COSC chronometer which is not too common in the watches of this type. Chopard has really done a good job of mixing classic elegance with a timeless appearance in this watch. I think it is one of the best of its kind. The price of these coins varies somewhat - retail for approximately $13 500 standard gold version and up to about $35,000 for the diamond version. Affordable Vintage: 1954 Longines Conquest
In 1954 Longines launched the Conquest line, and with it a new era for the company. The Conquest was the first step in a new development and marketing strategy with a named line or family of watches. Many more were to follow, but the venerable Conquest (such a killer name too…) was the beginning. Having a named family of watches certainly wasn’t introduced by Longines, but they definitely utilized the strategy to its fullest potential, and still use it today (as do most modern brands). After the Conquest came the Flagship, then the Admiral and Grand Prize among others. The first generation Conquest reviewed here is probably the most classic and easily recognizable iteration of the line for collectors of vintage watches. It ran from 1954 to about 1959, when a new case shape and movement were introduced. This Conquest was actually preceded by the All Guard, a watch that shared a similar case, movement, dial and hands. The case is a study in simple yet rugged understatement. Si
Gold GMT II vs steel 26400...should I ?
I had a desire to add a little sparkle to my life and was offered an interesting proposition:Rolex Gold GMT II 116718 in trade for my steel 44 novelty 26400.After initially rejecting the offer...I'm having some second thoughts.I would love to upgrade the steel for the RG 44 Novelty, but its just not in cards, budget wise.I would still have my AP fix in the form of my FC diver Thoughts ? 324 SC movement issue - question
A few times in the past month my watch with the 324 SC movement has stopped around 11:45PM, despite having been worn all day, as though the movement doesn't have enough power to get over the hump of changing the date. After it stops, even after I wind it manually, the watch stops a few minutes or seconds later, short of midnight. If I reset the time to after the date change, the watch runs perfectly normally again. Does anyone know what is causing this? Does this just mean it needs a normal servicing? This used to happen once every few months and is now happening once a week or so. Most days it still works perfectly. The watch is worn at least 10 hours per day.
