Jaquet Droz Launches 5 New Models
Jaquet Droz unveils 5 new models for 2009 including a simple “less is more” 50mm pocket watch, two complicated pieces with mineral dials, second time zone, and 24 hour displays, and two tourbillons, one of which measures in at a stately 47mm. La Montre de PocheJaquet Droz presents a pocket watch that embodies their less is more philosophy. La Montre de Poche is housed in a red gold case measuring 50mm in diameter. The dial is hand-crafted enamel while the hands are red gold, as are the accompanying chain and charms. The watch is powered by a Jaquet Droz caliber 2615 30 jewel manual winding movement with an autonomy of 40 hours. This pocket watch will be produced in a limited series of 88 numbered pieces.Les Deux Fuseaux minrauxProduced in limited series of 8 pieces each, these watches display hours and minutes at 12, small seconds at 6, centered hours and minutes for a second time zone, date at 3, and a 24 hour counter at 9. The understated red gold cases measure 43mm in
Has anyone tried a deployant on the diver or new offshore chromo?
I am thinking about getting a new strap for a forged carbon diver. AP makes a 29mm x 20mm strap for the new chronos (20mm at the buckle), and there are now both tang and deployant options. Has anyone tried the deployant? Thanks!
The bird has landed!
well,I want to thank everyone for their input on this.. I pulled the trigger on the AP Legacy. It was between this and the RG ROO RC that I also like, but in person, the legacy steals the show hands down IMO.pics just dont do this watch any good. its big, its bold, its ceramic which is just as scratch resistant as a saphire crystal.. the strap is made from kevlar, it has rosegold pushers and other parts, to be honest, I think it has the best of everything. so I went with the legacy. They only made 1500 so in the long run, I could always get a 44 RG ROO but not a Legacy. It is a monster of a watch and it has the DLC/PVD look, but i dont ever have to worry about scratches which is the best part. I was told this is the very first watch Audemars has ever done with the entire case ceramic. The ONLY thing that turns be off about the RG 44mm Roo is that it has stick markers instead of arabic numbers. I prefer the numbers. That's why I kept the choice between the refereshed RG ROO RC and The L
Strap change questions....
Hello all here at TRF! While browsing the forums this weekend I paid particular attention to straps that are on the watches. It was so exciting to see how a different strap can give an entirely new look to a watch. So, this got me thinking about a few strap-related questions I would like to pose to all of you:1). Do you change your straps yourself or take it somewhere to have it done? I have the tool to make the change myself, but am so worried that I will inadvertently cause damage due to my lack of experience and skill. But at the same time I feel a little odd taking it to a shop to have it done knowing that I didn't purchase the watch there.2). I notice in some of the photos the strap doesn't seem to be the right size (i.e. Too narrow for the lug width of the watch). Are there any potential issues with this other than cosmetic? 3). How often do you change your straps? It seems like it would be easy to become a little OCD with this and develop a habit of constantly changing t
Costcolex
I've heard about Costco selling Rolex watches....first time actually seeing one. The attendent told me they just sold another for $39,000...he didn't know which model.
