The allure of mechanical chronographs is easy to pin down. ?Tiny little mechanisms, powered by springs, engage and disengage at the press of a button to time events, measure speed, distance or even heart rate. On the surface, the action of a chronograph is simple and often useful. Underneath, the movements that power these functions are very complex and often very beautiful. As with most things that are complex, mechanical chronographs tend to cost more than standard 3-hand watches. And if you are going to spend more, you should know a bit about what is out there. Chances are if you went into your local watch store, any mechanical chronograph under $2,000 would have the Valjoux 7750 movement in it. While ubiquitous, it's not the only thing out there and there are different variations on it.So, we decided to create a guide of affordable mechanical chronographs, with an emphasis on showing different brands and movements, many of which are available on-line only.?1. Ive been looking at this piece for quit some while , i think its very nice ?But i havent really seen any around ?Is it not a popular model , maybe the wrong color for this kind of watch ?Maybe people are afraid of the resell value ?

3820 or 3919?
Hi Everyone,I have been given a wonderful opportunity to buy a preowned PP at last.If given a choice,would you prefer a 3820 or a 3919?My limited watch funds only permit that I can only afford One and Only.All feedbacks are welcome!Thank You!

My 2 year old 116710ln is running about +15seconds per day, and I am planning to take it down the the Rolex Service Centre on St James Sq, London.Would this be a quick fix or would I need to have it serviced? Also would I have any issues bringing it in on the isofrane which I wear it on ?

How have you been Savvi w/your collection or in this hobby??Wanting to hear your creative ideas, along with your experiences as a watch enthusiast!I've been a watch enthusiast since 1990 and am lucky enough to have obtained a luxury piece or 2 along the way. Am not flush with money so my fine watch collection will never go beyond 1-3 pieces. However, I still want to play the game as I acquire/rotate and trade. I typically hold on to a piece anywhere from 5-10 yrs. but have now (I think/hope) found 1 keeper among my current 2.* I think Savvi Formal wear is on to something...they know prom/weddings are special occasions but many don't hold onto that tux. Rental car Co's./Car manufacturers same thing...have used them for necessity or Saturday play time. I've borrowed/loaned watches to/from a relative for us to have a new/fun experience. Also, have had my AD take pics of dream watches on my wrist. I'd be thrilled to rent a Rolex... seriously...just kidding. ** Please share ways you have k
