Observatoire Chronometrique+ New Alternative To COSC Chronometer Certification?
In an effort to justify the substantial premium in their pricing, as well as prove the performance of their products, luxury watch brands go out of their way to prove that they can live up to consumer expectations in what is an extremely competitive industry. A more tangible way of proving their claimed superiority is by providing certificates which, through a series of tests, ensure that each submitted timepiece complies with strict accuracy and-or aesthetic standards. Timelab's new watch certificate program is called "Observatoire Chronometrique+" and it offers a certificate claimed to be more thorough and comprehensive than that issued by the established COSC (the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) and more widely available than the Geneva Seal. The Observatoire Chronometrique+ is a new initiative in which any and all Swiss-made mechanical watches can be submitted, and they test fully assembled watches, not just for their chronometric performance, but also their power rese

one of these will likely be my next patek.vastly different styles, in a perfect world I'd have both.but in meantime, will only be able to handle one.both have their merits, and i believe would blend well into the collection. but in the likelihood i would sell it of later down the line, which model is likely to depreciate more/less?
Identify this Vintage AP Dress Watch
Hi all!Can you help me identify this YG AP dress watch? Googling any of those reference numbers returned nothing for me.What year is it from? And what should one expect to pay for something like this? Include your currency too :)If you can send me a link to any website with further details of this piece, that would be marvelous!
Sometimes you have to do something stupid...
While not wanting the new GMT (in the minority I’m sure), I do want the new DSSD... I had the orgional from day one and like many (or some) it just didn’t sit right for me. With the redesign I think it will be good. BUT, in order to get one in a timely manner and not pay grey prices, and even though I do have a long relationship with my AD, I was not a big buyer (DavidSW got most of my business). So in order to get a new DSSD this summer, he said it will really help if you get something now (last Watch I got from him was the SD4K in 2016)... The only watch I wanted lately was the BLNR, and ended up getting a new from TRF about 6 weeks ago... Well he said I can get you the GMT you wanted, so not wanting to tell him I have it already, I told him to get it, and I’m going to sell my other BLNR... Yes, this is just crazy, but it’s going to be less than gray prices in the end, and can’t believe I’m even going to do this, but it’s my best ch
Happy holidays-- collection advice please!
I have a conundrum at the moment with my collection and looking for some advice. I'm only interested in a 3 watch collection, so my current state is:- Omega Speedmaster Automatic (ref 3513.50)- Rolex Milgauss Z-Blue (ref 116400GV)- Jaeger LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon (ref Q1368420)My original thinking was having one everyday watch (Omega), one nice sports watch (Milgauss), and one nice dressy-formal watch (JLC). Now I'm looking to get rid of the JLC MUT Moon because it's slightly dressy for my rotation and I don't like having things I don't use, and I feel it is a little big on my wrists, which are 6.5. I want something more versatile than a moonphase. I have 3 options right now:1. Sell it and use the funds to get a Rolex Explorer 114270 in excellent condition with box and papers (case and bracelet ok, but very small chip on edge of crystal, easily replaceable)-- $0 additional required from me2. Trade it in for a Rolex Explorer 114270 in minty condition with box and papers-- $500 a
