Refund after price increase?
Well, I didn't expect this. Was thrilled to pick up my 5960 from my AD less than 7 days ago and now it's worth $3,800 less. I jumped on board PP from Rolex about a year ago. I currently have two and two more on the way.I did the 'right' thing by Patek and bought from an AD. I've been walking on cloud nine since I bought it, but I'm sure you can appreciate my frustration - especially when you hear from ADs that the price will be going up due to the Swiss Franc, etc.By the incomings, I know there are others that are in this position. Have you done anything about it? Are you going to?Thanks for listening - this was therapeutic :)
Are diamonds in vintage dealer add-on bezels larger?
First, hats off to Crown Collection for his consistently great contributions, furthering our collective knowledge on some arcane topics. In his thread in the reference section about authenticating diamond bezels, he discusses the diamond bezels that Rolex dealers stocked to up-sell customers. Specifically,18000 series men's day- date C 44 brilliants set in yellow gold (part code MBZ4488)44 brilliants set in platinum (part code MBZ4466). 46 brilliants set in white gold (part code MBZ4690)My question is, did these bezels have larger stones than the standard factory bezels (that would have come on a 18348 for example)? Or, in the case of the white metal bezels on YG watches, is it just an optical illusion that the diamonds are larger?Thank you.
Comparing movements 3135 & 3235
Hi All, Is there a thread already started on this subject & if so, can you link it for me. If not, can you tell me what is the major difference? I know the power reserve is 70, which is nice to have. I'm not sure if I want to wait another year for my watch. Ive already let 3 Baselworlds go by hoping for the changes I've wanted but once again, like all the other years, it wasn't meant to be this year either. I'm eyeing a DJ 116200 blue stick dial, domed bezel & oyster bracelet. It's not a sport model or one that's popular so definitely can wait for the new movement to hit the SS versions next year. Opinions welcome. :-)
New Hulk Incoming
Got a call from my AD. My first Rolex-the hulk- is here. So excited. I can't believe it only took 3 weeks. Will post pictures next week.
116520 aaaaaaand.....?
I'm drooooling at the possibility of a DD40 as my second and (if achieved) final Rolex for a loooong time.Poll question being: If you had the 116520(white dial), what would you reach for next?WG with Blue dial?ORRG with Olive dial?Rando third option being your suggestions! Yes I'm still banging this idea around in my head. The incoming is...definitely coming soon; but since I'm still waiting for the actual day I may as well torture the forum and bounce a little more off my favorite digital geek squad. Pics for good measure!
