Complicated All-Wood Watches By Valerii Danevych
Ukrainian Valerii Danevych makes wood watches with actual wooden movements. "It's a functional work of art." ?This is a phrase that can sometimes be thrown around with reckless abandon - especially when it comes to our beloved watches. ?To be sure, mechanical watches - regardless of their vintage - are engineering marvels, given that they give us a miniature machine that tracks the passage of the day. ?We've recently caught wind of some mechanical watch designs that are very worthy of being called works of art - and functional ones at that.First things first - yes, these are truly made of wood. ?But make no mistake - these are quite different from other wooden watches that have hit the market from companies like WeWood?, Sprout?, or assorted Kickstarter projects.? Those other makes feature wooden cases (and sometimes bracelets), but the movement working away inside is the very familiar (and very non-wooden) quartz-driven type. ?For these watches from Valerii Danevych, every single piec
A shout out to Fraser Hart - UK AD
Wanted to say a big thank you to Fraser Hart (large U.K. Chain and AD). Having recently enquired about a CK2998 they told me that they had very limited availability and whilst they would give me one it was important I placed a 2000 deposit right there and then to secure. In running around and moving money I duly did so and was advised delivery would be imminent.I've received the call today that they can't get me the watch after all but in consideration that I still want it they are prepared to give me the deposit back if I can come talk with their Manager. The fact they have wasted my time, sat on my money for 2 weeks, caused undue cost and inconvenience of which part has seen me buy a 1125 bracelet in advance seems somewhat lost on them and I just wanted to say thank you for their helpThat's one AD that won't be getting any business from me in future

Return of an old friend.
Yesterday I finally got the call from Wynn Las Vegas that my 16710 was back from Rolex Service Center (Dallas). Turnaround time was six weeks and $872, including shipping. I gave them instructions not to touch the case or bracelet but did have Luis (the watchmaker) do a light polish on the band just to bring back a little shine. Instruction were followed perfectly and I am completely happy with the result. Just an FYI, all the people there are amazing, but if you're in town and want to talk watches ask for Luis the watchmaker, he is so cool and down to earth, you can tell he loves watches and loves to talk shop. Big thumbs up!! As I have stated before I purchased the watch new in December of 1999, I was 26 years old and even though I paid $3500 for the watch I was probably a little out of my league. But I worked hard and saved harder and got the watch of my dreams. Since then I have bought and sold a SS Daytona, TT Datejust II, IWC Pilot Chrono, and an LVc in the search for the right
