Urwerk Encourages Obsessive Accuracy Tinkering With EMC Watch Movement
Pretty soon, high-end Geneva-based watch maker Urwerk, will release a watch that includes their new EMC mechanical movement - a mechanism that will no doubt appear ironic and perhaps insane to those not acquainted with the passions that drive the mechanical watch industry. In short, the EMC blurs the lines between mechanical and quartz timing regulation in an amusingly obsessive way that points to the sheer limits of how much your average watch aficionado is willing to endure. Urwerk calls the EMC the first "mechanical smart watch movement," so let's find out what it is all about.A little background info first so that you'll understand all of this. Mechanical watches are "regulated" to be as accurate as possible. Depending on the movement, there are a few variables that involve playing with the hairspring in order to make the watch have the best "rate results." The hard part is regulating the watch so that it is satisfactorily accurate not just sitting down on a table, but sitting upsi

Must say I'm Very Impressed
Wow guys. Just tried on the 45.5 PO that is discontinued. A buddy of mine at work just bought it. It is truly a nice piece and the finish is incredible. The pictures of this watch that I have seen before do not do this thing justice.Quick iPhone pic at work.
Most will think I'm crazy
I'm considering moving my 114060 Sub and picking up a TT DJ41. I posted a while back and If I'm not mistaken someone else posted a similar thread about falling out of love with a certain piece or the brand in general. I haven't fallen out of love with the brand and really haven't fallen out of love with the Sub. My first Rolex was a TT 1601, long retired except for a few times a year. Like everyone else I'm under the spell that 36mm is now too small for a man's watch. I am a bigger guy as well. I am self employed and dress very causally for work, the sub often fits in perfect with what I wear. When I get home I typically take it off and do something outside around the farm. I don't have to have a watch for a daily but I've got the Sub so I wear it most days. Fast forward to as of late and I am now finding myself eyeing the DJ41's especailly the TT white dial and slate roman dials. I'm a bit old fashioned, unlike most I like a TT watch, always have. Of course the Sub will be
