Oris Darryl O'Young Limited Edition Watches
Watch companies do this a lot. Make an interesting watch that is closely connected with someone well known - at least well known to some people. I would say that 95% of the time I have never even heard of the person they are making the watch "in honor of." While it is true that I am not a big sports enthusiast, I should have at least heard of the people right? Popular choices for these watches are race car drivers, golfers, soccer players, etcIn the US these people are mostly unknown - at least in pop culture terms. Take for instance Darryl O'Young that this Oris watch is based on. Clearly from the images he is some type of race drive - but aside from the fact that Oris points out he drives a Porsche, I have no idea who he is, and why I should care.So am I the wrong audience for this stuff? Or do watch companies just like to connect with people that are unknown in the US. I mean I assume someone out there knows and cares who this guy is. There are always press releases from watch brand
AD Reasonable Discount---California
Hello All--I am thinking of purchasing my first AP. I am considering the ROO chrono 44mm in stainless steel on rubber strap. I believe they retail for $25k or so. What is a reasonable discount on this watch? Any suggestions for AD's in California? Thank you. Chris.
Landed and it hasn't left my wrist!
The 41mm Chronograph has been on my list for a while now and I was finally able to add it over the weekend...This piece checks a lot of boxes for me...- White dial Chronograph- A little bit bigger fit (compared to say a Daytona) - AP bracelet (I thought I liked the Bracelet on my Diver - this is beautiful)I already have found it extremely versatile and super comfortable! Also wanted to thank DavidSW for making another flawless deal come together! It's been a bit overcast here but a little wrist shot is in order
Poll Time: On style alone, Patek 5960/1A or 5712/1A (assuming price is the same)
So I had a little pre-buyer's remorse on the 5712 -- I realized it just doesn't look different enough than my other watches and my AD is happy to reallocate.....So I'm now onto a 5960/1A -- while the two watches couldn't be any more different, wondering which watch you'd pick if the price were the same.I've heard mixed reviews on the 5960/1A - love to hear any other comments and the waiting time you've experienced?
