Obris Morgan Explorer Review
Obris Morgan is one of the stranger brands out there. It's not the watches themselves that are so weird, though they do have their own quirks and personalities, it's the way in which the brand works that is strange. In the last two years they have released, back to back, a handful of watches that take inspiration from here and there, have an undeniable appeal to us tool-watch fans, and come in at remarkably low prices. Each watch seems to be a test of something new or different, whether a style, component or finishing technique. When the watches arrive, they are all very cool and fun to wear, though noticeably imperfect, as though each is an iteration leading towards the real thing.Their newest watch, the Explorer, takes it's name from this process. Unlike the famous Rolex that is shares it's name with, it's not about reaching great heights or depths, though you could probably put it through its paces, but rather about finish and function. The exploration here is in DLC (diamond like c
Bring a Loupe: A Magnificent Vacheron Constantin And Many Tool Watches From Aquastar, IWC, And Universal Geneve
This week's Bring A Loupe will present to you an outstanding Vacheron Constantin with a glorious case. Then comes a round-up of great tool watches, but here is the catch - none are from Rolex. Instead we preferred to surprise you with some less expected watches from Aquastar, IWC, and Universal Geneve - all fantastic in their own right. This is your Bring A Loupe for October 9, 2015. A Rare Vacheron Ref. 4790 With An Incredible Case 1 OF 11 The case of this Vacheron Constantin deserves a good close look: I have rarely seen such an interesting build in such dreamy condition. The articulated lugs are absolutely spectacular, especially complemented by this intact case. Interestingly, the pink-gold case has a very modern 20 mm lug width, and it is almost 40 mm long, including lugs. I actually discovered in a previous auction that this Vacheron houses the famed 1001 movement, engineered from a Jaeger-LeCoultre ebauche and showcasing impeccable finishing. This Vachero
Current Patek Lineup
Here's my current lineup. Let's see yours!
One Last question... help decide please.
Guys... need the advice to decide. My Patek collection is made of the following pieces. 5167, 5711, 5712, 5146, 5205r, Gondolo and 5270g. Been struggling between the 5170g and 5980 RWhat would be a better fit for the collection or what is the logical move? What's next? Suggestions? Thank you in advance.
5726 grey dial on bracelet or strap or 5167R
Hi all,I would just like to know your opinion and personal tastes between these 3 watches, don't hesitate to write the reasons why you prefer this one to these, etc.For me I think it's in the order of the choices, 1st on bracelet, 2nd on strap and 3rd the 5167R, I am contemplating the eventual purchase of one, many have suggested the 5167 as I already have a Nautilus, but if ever I do get one it will be the 5726, what is the most important, having very different pieces to have a 3-4 piece collection as diversified as possible, or getting the pieces you love the most, even if 2 of them are very close?Anyways I think I would get on strap even if I kinda prefer the bracelet version, but in this case the preference is not huge and it would be better IMO to have one Nautilus on strap and one on bracelet since I have a 5712. Especially I contacted ABP in Paris, they can make any strap by special order for a Nautilus, they have done it before so it's no problem, the only thing they need is to
