Today, we're speaking with Elie Bernheim, the third-generation leader at the helm of Raymond Weil. We think you'll find it interesting to hear from someone who quite literally grew up in the industry.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Elie Bernheim: I'm the grandson of the eponymous founder of the independent watch brand, Raymond Weil. I'm also the third generation to lead the family Company, succeeding my father, Olivier Bernheim, who headed the Company for 18 years.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?Elie Bernheim: I grew up in the watchmaking industry. EXCLUSIVE: Introducing The Piaget Altiplano 38mm 900P, The Thinnest Mechanical Watch In The World (Live Pics, Details, Pricing)
Piaget is the king of ultra-thin watches, holding more than a dozen records in various categories. This expertise goes all the way back to 1957 with the invention of the Calibre 9P, the first Piaget ultra-thin movement and what today is a real classic. To celebrate the mark's 140th anniversary, the Piaget has gone for the biggest record of all and released the Altiplano 900P, the world's thinnest mechanical watch. It has taken some serious technological breakthroughs to get to a staggering 3.65mm thin and the result is a surprisingly wearable watch. Here we have an exclusive first look at this amazing watch, complete with live photos and pricing. While Piaget holds many of the ultra-thin records, the overall thinnest mechanical watch title was previously held by Jaeger-LeCoultre for the Master Ultra-Thin Jubilee, which comes in at 4.05mm. But now, thinner by a full .4mm, the Altiplano 900P has climbed on top. Normally here we'd start talking about the thin movement and how i
Ceramic bezels on 42 ROOs?
Hi. I always thought ROOs were very beautiful sport watches, but as a man with relatively small wrists, I could never pull off the 44mm ROOs. So I set my eyes on 42mm ROOs but they lack the black ceramic bezels that I always loved to see on ROOs. Has it always been like this where the ceramic bezels were reserved only for the 44s? Any chance AP might throw in the ceramic bezels for the 42s in the near future??Oh and forgot to mention... any chance of bar index for the 42 ? I seem to prefer the aesthetics of the 44s except the size...
Omega Broad Arrow in GOLD
Beauty is in the beholder but I can't think of a more stunning watch at sensible (when preowned) prices. The movement is well regarded also.If anyone sees either of these two come up for sale on Ebay with no reserve please give me a poke.
Twenty-4 Anniversary present
My wife never really got excited about a nice watch and made me take back a Rolex I bought for her once. We are on vacation and today is our 20th anniversary. I bought this for her without her seeing it and she absolutely loves it. We are going back to the AD tomorrow to get it sized and look for my present.
