First, the dials were made by the same manufacturer, Singer, and the movements were made by Valjoux (although Rolex made a couple minor tweaks to its Valjoux 72s). Hi everyone, just need more info on this watch. any things would help me thank you as i know absolutely nothing about it except my grandmother bought this for my grandfather when they first started dating. Must be prity old. also the back watever use to be on there has been completly rubbed of. im guessing its not worth much but it has lots of sentimental value to me. Also i still have the original red box it came in. is it worth getting fixed up like there is a couple of chips on the glass and the band looks like its peeling and has some green on there.

5712/1A or 5712G
I recently saw the white gold 5712G on black strap at my local AD...WOW...really looks good. Much better than I had expected. Now I'm really torn between the 2 versions of the 5712.Would be interested in hearing thoughts from the group as to which model they would choose. And for arguments sake, let's say the price difference is not the $10k difference per retail, but more so around $5k.Still think I'm leaning towards the stainless version, but what do you say?
