In honor of its second year of partnership with amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, jeweler/watchmaker Harry Winston has announced the launch of the Countdown to a Cure Timepiece. Designed exclusively for amfAR's Countdown to a Cure campaign, this limited-edition watch (20 each of the men's and ladies’ models), is the first official product to benefit amfAR's efforts to develop the scientific basis of a cure for HIV by 2020.Both watches are part of Harry Winston's Midnight Collection. The men's version (priced at $21,200) features a 42-mm-diameter white gold case and a navy blue dial; the dial is accented with a multicolor gradient that represent amfAR's Countdown to a Cure campaign colors, symbolizing the fade of the disease from crisis to cure. Editorial: Cara's Favorite Watches From Baselworld 2016
This year was my very first Baselworld, and it was incredible. Despite being jet-lagged and hungry most of the time, the rush of running around and seeing all the new releases was really invigorating. We met with numerous brands from Rolex to Ressence and everything in between, all with very different offerings. Here are my top five favorite watches from Baselworld 2016. 1. Rolex Cosmograph Daytona In Black 1 OF 6 As much of a predictable cliché as this choice may seem, this watch was truly awesome to behold in person. Literally everyone at Baselworld (okay, maybe not everyone, but the entire HODINKEE team) was talking about this watch. And even though I like to go against the trend, I just couldn't help myself with this one. Both black and white dial versions were shown, but given the choice, I would definitely go for the all-black version with black Cerachrom bezel. It's just a super cool watch and even though it is 40 mm, it wears well on my wrist
First Dual Time in my collection...
I've been intrigued by idea of owning a 39mm Dual Time for quite a while now. Finally pulled the trigger on this white dial which is my personal preference. Thanks to Ian S. (royaloak36) for making it happen!Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
This situation happened to me
Hi Guys,I'm after some advice/ opinions please. I find myself in an awkward situation. I recently ordered a new strap for my Rose Gold AP from and authorised APSC here in the UK, at this stage I'm not going to name them until its all resolved. As I want to give them the opportunity to put this right.A few weeks after placing the order I get a call to advise that my strap has arrived and if I swing by to pick it up the watchmaker will fit it for me. So far so good. The next day I swing by the store to collect the strap watch safely in case with me and am told the watchmaker is off sick and someone else can fit for me from their watch shop, at this point the gentleman standing behind the counter who wasn't looking after me piped up and said that he could fit it for me instead. I queried this as I didn't feel comfortable and he said that he would have a look and if he felt he couldn't do it he would leave it alone and we could revert back to the original plan.He took my watch to a back of
Rolex Explorer 1 (current model)
I'm seriously considering purchasing an Explorer 1 and had a few questions.1. Can you jump in the pool with it? Swim?2. What is the typical service intervals for Rolex?3. Is the bracelet comfortable?
