His work has been transformed into watch cases and dial in the GoS brand, but now you can get one of their watches and knives together in a beautiful set.Artisan type work with this aesthetic is either something you love or hate. You can't deny the incredible level of detail and work that goes into creating the complex patterns of this type of folded and then blacksmithed metal. What I really like is that between the knife and watch you get a range of different Damascus steel styles and patterns. The set really does include a large range of GoS's capabilities. Watchmaker in North West of England - Any recommendations?
Hi all! I am about to embark on the purchase of an Omega 311.30.42.30.01.006 (Sapphire Sandwich) with a view to doing the Mitsukoshi hand and dial swap conversion but I am struggling to find a watchmaker in the North West of England to do the work.I am aware of a couple of watchmakers that may perform the task but they are some distance from me and I would rather not post the watch and parts if it can be avoided.I am aware of: -Duncan Potter Genesis (016977 3123).genesiswatchmaking.co.uk/But this is in Cardiff.watchworks.co.uk/Again this is in Bristol so would require posting.I have tried Whittles Jewellers in Preston as they have an onsite watchmaker. They say they will do the dial swap etc but only for the cost of a full service ��480. I informed them I intend to purchase a brand new watch (possibly from them) to do the conversion but they say all seals will need replacing, blah blah. Calling on rolex lume specialists
Hi guys, Wondering if someone can help me figuring this one out:As you know, I bought a 1998 U4xxx Explorer 2 polar dial;It came with SEL link stamped Z ( I believe Z = 1997 from what I could recoup from my search), and with a tritium dial. The dial does not glow, but when I am in extreme darkness, there is a faint greenish glow to it. Under blacklight, all the lume parts react in a uniform manner. Now under the sun, the dots and arrows remain white. A friend of mine who has an A series swiss dial with luminova, the lume immediately shows a strong green on the dots and arrow.So I am wondering, can it be that mine has a tritium in a final stages of dying? I read here and there that the latter U series had a tritium dial but luminova lume, yet the reaction is different from the A swiss model I seen.
