Watches NEWS
aBlogtoRead.com Quoted On Marcelloc-watches.com For Superior Watch Review
Before consumer product-review websites became as popular as they are today, watch enthusiasts were busy trading reviews and recommendations. There is no source for watch reviews like there is for car or toaster oven reviews. Good luck finding a Consumer Reports type resource that evaluates watches. Instead, major sources still consider watches the same thing as jewelry, which aren't typically reviewed; a shame.Potential watch buyers are left with user reviews strewn about online on forums and dedicated personal websites. It is encouraged that if you own a watch you like, you write a review to share with the watch community or interested consumers in general. Buying a new watch should have a higher degree of consumer reliability, as you are buying as much a tool as you are a functioning machine. Don't you want your new watch to work well with a high degree of functionality? Some watches are certainly better engineered than others, and build quality can vary drastically. For this reason
Hands-On: With The Patek Philippe 5140R And 5140P, Classic Perpetuals Both With New Dial Options For 2014
While the two big releases for Patek Philippe at Basel World this year both happened to be in stainless steel (the new Nautilus Chrono Travel Time 5990 / Annual Calendar Chrono 5960A), it's worth noting that one of its more understated and elegant, but important, timepieces received two updates. The reference 5140 is Patek's round, traditional perpetual calendar, and this year we saw two brand new dials. It is the follow up to the iconic 3940, which is considered to be one of the most important pieces of Patek's modern history – many consider it, along with the 3970, the first serially produced truly complicated timepiece. Its 20-year reign came to an end in 2006 when Patek showed the 5140, which would use the same ultra-thin, self-winding, micro-rotor-powered caliber 240Q. Since then, the 5140 has been shown in white gold, yellow gold, rose gold with brown dial, and platinum with a blue dial. 2 OF 4 The platinum case with a galvanized black dial features

Another happy LAWW customer
Just received my watch back from LA Watch Works and am incredibly happy with my experience. Start to finish they were a class act. Great communication, on time turn around, and most importantly, incredible work. I sent them my 16570 after RSC completely ruined my case the the last time they service it - 2013. At least one of the worse jobs I've seen. Now I'm not one to baby my watches, especially this one, but it drove me bonkers every time I was reminded of their botched work (almost daily lol). Though, I held out from trying to getting it corrected as I figured Rolex would correct the geometry the next time it was sent in for a service. Fast forward till about a year ago, I started seeing LAWW work all over the forum and was impressed with their capabilities. Sent mine in for a spa treatment and very satisfied with the results. Below are some before and after shots:
