Introducing the Archimede 1950's
There aren't many contemporary dress watches on the affordable end of the spectrum that are truly worth purchasing. The ones with any appeal are usually modern interpretations of historical designsHamilton and Tissot certainly have a few, as does Orient. But most of these reissues often miss the mark with a detail or two that leave one feeling colda misplaced date window or an inflated case size, just to name a few. And the brands that do get it right, namely the Max Bill line from Junghans, are generally priced higher than comparable brands. But what if I were to tell you that there's finally a watch out there with all the right vintage details, boasting rugged German construction, and at an easy-to-swallow price just north of $500? Well, lucky day, because I'm about to do just that. Say hello to the Archimede 1950's.Archimede, as our faithful readers may already know, is a bit of a fan-favorite here at Worn&Wound.? And on the first day of Baselworld, they confirmed we would be seeing a lot more vintage-inspired chronographs, with a re-edition of the famous Monza. 1 OF 3 Launched in 1976, the watch was Jack Heuer's gift to Ferrari's Formula One team to celebrate their (then) partner's surprising title-winning season. A win which Heuer felt deserved an exceptional design C and in the '70s a PVD-coated watch certainly hit the nail on the head. 2 OF 3 The latest version of the Monza re-introduces key features from the original, such as the pulsometer and the tachymeter scale, the original font on the dial, and Heuer's pre-TAG logo. However, the new Monza is best described as a combination of the original Monza chronograph C returning to its iconic black and red color scheme and adding vintage orange SuperLuminova C and the 2000
Corrects books... specifically for RB2TI
Guys,I've looked and researched over 10+ rb2TI's that in the market (ebay) and through private collections courtesy of a few TRF members here over the last week. I wanted to make sure it has proper books for a complete set and some didn't have any or some don't have the right ones. My question is which books are the proper ones that came with the rb2 b/c frankly, I've seen quite of the few ones for sale with different books. What I've seen are:Certificat De Garante & D'AuthenticiteInstruction for use - ChronographCertificat D; Origine & de GarantieService Mondial/World wide serviceCan someone tell me which are the correct books? and only one should have the dealer stamp?
