Patek Dominates Top Sellers at Christie’s Geneva Sale
Christie’s November 15 Geneva sale generated an impressive SFr. 21,572,700, or a little over $22 million. The sale included A Connoisseur's Vision Part III , which together with Parts I and II, represents the most important private Patek Philippe collection ever offered at auction, and the most expensive collection ever sold. Among the wristwatches sold in Geneva, Patek Philippe took the top spots. The star of this sale was lot 114, an exceptionally rare 18K pink-gold Patek Philippe ref. 2523 two-crown worldtime wristwatch with 24 hour indication and blue enamel dial. Manufactured in 1953, this piece was originally retailed in Milan in 1957. This is the 35.5mm “large version” of the reference, and only 14 examples are known to have come to auction. The selling price was $2,727,651.The number two position in the sale went to lot 234, an 18K pink gold Patek Philippe ref. 2499 perpetual calendar chronograph with moon phases, manufactured in 1957. Weekend Report: The Opera House Cup In Nantucket With Panerai
This year marked the 10th year of Panerai's sponsorship of the 43rd annual Opera House Cup Regatta in Nantucket. The Opera House Cup Regatta is an annual race for classic wooden yachts that takes place in the waters off Nantucket; it gets its name from the Opera House Restaurant, whose owner, Gwen Gaillard, came up with the idea for the regatta in 1973, after hearing local sailors lament the absence of a regatta for classic wooden-hull yachts. In the subsequent four decades it's evolved to become one of the most spectacular exhibitions of sailing yachts in the world; I had the opportunity to go out and watch the regatta with Panerai and it was truly a sight to behold (see pictures below). This year's regatta featured 55 registered yachts that participated in the Cup. Among the boats were a number of classic yachts of all different sizes. The winner of this year's Opera House Cup was Bapple, a 26' from Alerion, whose skipper, Bruce Failing, took home the p

I purchased this watch on impulse, as I am leaving for Europe tomorrow. However, I got a great deal on it and now have a grueling 16 hour wait for the watch to be at my doorstep. As soon as it arrives, I will post some pictures. In the meantime, any guesses for what I got?

James Cameron Deep Sea
I was offered a D Blue recently and declined seeing as my wrists are small.anything over 40mm I've never really taken any notice of and I never knew much about the history of this watch. The AD salesman was telling me that he expected them to be out of production soon and it would be a great investment, since I've walked away I've been wondering if a made a big mistake. Are these watches still a Hot watch or was it just the usual salesman pitch ?
