Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater Automaton Watch
Jaquet Droz is about to officially announce their new automata-based minute repeater watch called The Bird Repeater. Yup, that's right. Last March during Basel I got to view a computer rendering animation of the watch in action. While the minute repeater is activated a few things happen on the dial. Among those include a "moving" waterfall as well as a mother bird feeding a chick that hatches from an egg. Automaton birds are deeply part of Jaquet Droz's original history. While the concept is "original," the detailing and execution is really impressive. This picture was taken of a finished Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater watch by our friends at Watchonsita - who swung by Jaquet Droz HQ to be the first to check the piece out. I hope to show you a live video of the watch in action soon. Look for more details on the overall watch coming up as well. Check out Watchonista's full preview coverage of the Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater watch here.??[polldaddy poll=6612269]
Titanium 44mm Chronograph
I have PAM 121,89,and 25(I like Titanium!).Has Panerai made a 44mm Titanium chronograph?
Opinions: r-gold panerai 515 or 393
Hi all, new to this forum, wanted opinions on these watches. First Panerai, a lot of money, especially the gold ones I'm interested in. Steel looks great but was already have a steel watch. Thinking casual dress in gold now.I have a decent size wrist, but I think the 42 mm might be more appropriate for me.What do you all think about the red-gold panerai? overpriced? better watches for the price (~20-25k)? resale (though I'll likely keep this watch long term)?I like the new Radiomir styles with the thicker lugs. Also the 393 luminor. Both 42 mm.515393thanks in advance! suggestions and opinions welcome. appreciate it.
Just fooling around
with the Luminova.
Lousy Business--I Just dont Get Flipping
Looking at the classifieds I see Batmans with stickers bought three months ago going for as little as $ 300 over MSRP and not moving. What is the big deal about flipping watches ? To me it does not make any sense at all to tie up $ 9K in an unworn watch, and then have trouble selling it at cost three months later. Think of all the hastle and risk involved, for a lousy profit. What is more is that it seems like there is a fake demand for these watches with so many buying to flip. Sooner or later these buyers will be discouraged and the miracle business attraction debunked. My guess is Rolex knows about this and have therefore restricted supply. The only ones that move watches are the known reputable gray sellers but they will buy you out of your watch for a 2K loss. There is risk and hastle involved there too.
