Vintage Omega Info?
I picked up this vintage Omega over the weekend and was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it as it is my first Omega purchase? Based on the numbers on the watch and info I have found I am thinking it is 1920's vintage? Thanks
Which of these 3 gets your nod?
Hi everyone,I'm going to be purchasing my first Omega shortly. The 3 left in contention are:1) Seamaster 300 (black bezel and dial-model #2254.50-discontinued)2) Seamaster 300 titanium (black dial-model #2231.50)3) 42mm Planet Ocean (Black dial and bezel-model #2201.50)This watch will be my daily wearer. Personally, i like all 3 of the models, but thought i would ask for opinions from those with more experience and knowledge as to your recommendations regarding the pros and cons of each of these. Additionally, what type (% wise) discount should i be looking for off list on these models, and, do any of you have any AD's that you would strongly recommend and will ship out of state? Please feel free to send me a PM if you don't feel comfortable posting their contact info on here. Thanks for your help!
Best Panerai Strap Review
panerai_strap.JPGI have had many Panerai watches passing through my collection over the years, and never really was interested in aftermarket rubber straps for Panerai. The OEM rubber strap already came with the watch and I wasn’t really keen about it and rarely used it. Then along comes this new Rubber B strap that fits the case and has a motionless “blocked integration” fit which intrigued me…best_panerai_strap_.JPGAs someone who likes cool and innovative products that seem to have a lot of passion or thought put into them, I decided to take a plunge and try one on my PAM233. These things are not cheap, but they seem worthy of attention and they are made in Switzerland. Rubber B has a great reputation across the various watch forums for their quality stuff for Rolex and experience has been positive, so I felt like it was a safe bet to go with their new Panerai strap. I chose the dual colored black and green strap for my PAM. They also offer solid black, and a
Please help me understand all these codes
Hello TRF, I recently have been quite obsessed with the period correct topic. Yet the more I read, the more I'm confusing myself. I purchased a X serial TT few months ago, the warranty certificate that came with the watch has only the AD name on it but no date or owner so does not help much in dating the watch for the period correctness. I used the charts and reference library to get a rough idea of the period of each code I found:Case Serial code: X4..... (1991)Clasp Code: R11 (Nov 1993)GMT Manual: Jan 1992Your Rolex Oyster: Jan 1992Red Chrono Tag: Single crown hologram (90s - early 2000)Box code: 68.00.55 (90s)Calendar Card 1: 1994-1995Calendar Card 2: 1995-1996Dial: SWISS-T<25Originally I thought the Calendar cards were given out at services but I just learnt that they are part of the set the AD assembled during the purchase.l - but why 2? The dates of the booklets are 2 years earlier than the calendar cards, is that normal? The clasp is 2 years younger than the watch, but taking
