7 Rare Watches at Antiquorum’s 40th Anniversary Auction
Geneva-based Antiquorum Auctioneers turns 40 this year, and it is celebrating with an auction of Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces, to be held at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, on Saturday, February 22. Among the highlights of the more than 250 timepieces on the block are a rare, steel Patek Philippe chronograph; a prototype Richard Mille tourbillon watch; and several vintage Rolexes. Doubtless the headliner of the auction is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5004A stainless-steel wristwatch (Lot 250), with a split-seconds chronograph function, made in a limited edition of only 50 pieces. ?Produced in 2011, this highly collectible timepiece also features a perpetual calendar with moon-phases, leap year, and 24-hour indication, and comes on a leather strap with a stainless-steel Patek Philippe deployant clasp. In 1994 a terrible accident during an F1 race in Italy caused Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna to die. I believe that he was the last person to die during a Formula 1 race, and has been a testament to the needs of caution and safety in the work of super-fast racing circuits. Since his death, lots of new safety regulations and technology have been implemented to make the world of competitive racing safer.Recently an event was held in his honor, to raise money for charity via the Instituto Ayrton Senna. Hublot, a long time partner with many drivers as well as the official timepiece maker of Formula One was there to offer two new limited edition timepieces. The event would have been Senna's 50th birthday, and at the event was a debut of a new documentary film about his life called "Senna." The film is being carried by Paramount Pictures, having been developed by Working Title and Universal together. AP 101 - Help
Hi All,I'm from the Rolex Forum (couple floors up)Pretty well versed in Rolex watches at this point but know next to nothing about AP. Find AP references to be extremely pretty but confusing because of all the different models. I like the RO but am never clear about all the different sizes.Can anyone attempt to explain the lineup to me? For instance, what is the most popular or best selling AP watch? What is the submariner equivalent (in terms of popularity and recognition)?

5170 vs als 1815 chrono?
seems that the patek is the better deal considering market pricing vs msrp but anyone have both or switched one for the other? love the white dial 1815 with blue markers. not sure why they call it a boutique edition though when i see them at dealers.
