Girard-Perregaux Unveils Le Corbusier Trilogy of Limited-Edition Watches
La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the Swiss Jura, is regarded as the cradle of fine watchmaking, but it is also the birthplace of Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, known more widely as Le Corbusier, one of the titans of modern architecture and design. Now, Girard-Perregaux, a watch brand based in La Chaux-de-Fonds and long associated with Le Corbusier’s estate, has released a trilogy of watches with designs based on his work. The Girard-Perregaux Le Corbusier Trilogy pays tribute to the three cities most associated with the artist’s career: La Chaux-de-Fonds, where he spent his formative years and trained as a sculptor and engraver at the town’s School of Art; Paris, where he adopted his nom d’artiste and introduced the public to his pioneering furniture designs; and Marseille, where he did his most important late architectural work in his signature medium, reinforced concrete. The model chosen for the three watches each limited to only five pieces is Girard-Perregaux’s V

The Value Proposition: The Amazing, Incredible, And Semi-Affordable, Atmos Clock From Jaeger-LeCoult
As the current new guy at HODINKEE, it gives me no small pleasure to introduce – I should say, re-introduce – an old reader favorite: The Value Proposition. It’s been on hiatus for some time but you’ve asked us repeatedly to bring it back, and we listened. In Value Proposition we bring you a look at some of horology’s biggest and best bang-for-the-buck – timepieces that, in a world where price increases have for over a decade shut more and more out of enjoying mechanical horology, really over deliver in the value department. In general this means things in the under $10,000 category but at the same time, you might see us occasionally cover something like, say, a $15,000 minute repeater that sounds as nice as a $300,000 chiming complication, which seems unlikely, but hey, if it exists, you’ll read about it here first.Today, let’s talk about the Atmos clock, from Jaeger-LeCoultre. The Atmos is nothing more nor less than one of the absolute c
Winding Omega 300m grinding sound?
Hey All,Just received a new 300m and have a concern. When I unwind the crown and it pops out. I start to manually wind it an it feels like it's kind of grinding. Is the crown not out far enough and rubbing on the screw threads or is that how it feels with the rotor winding up.***My procedure***1st. Unwind all the way and let the crown move out on its own.2nd. Wind forward or clockwise. When I do this I can feel a grinding...or a ...hard to describe...buzzing-BUT I DO NOT HEAR IT...just feel it.If I pull out to the first click, isn't that the date adjustment? I guess I need to read the instructions. The reason I ask is that on my Rolex watches I do the same procedure as described, with no grinding feeling.Am I winding it correctly? Thanks for helping me with my remedial question(s).....
If you want original receipt to DJ2 blue roman if you bought from DavidSw July 2015
So I saw the post earlier about someone having original papers for a watch. I am not sure how legit the post was but got me thinking.I sold my DJ 2 116334 blue roman to David SW in July 2015. Literally last week was cleaning some things out and found the original receipt. I did not even know I still had it. Even funnier I just threw it back in the drawer even though I have no need for it.Now I am thinking maybe someone would want it for a true complete set. Who knows if it was resold to anyone here but worth the ask. I will provide some details and if you own it glad to mail the receipt to you. Details 116334 blue roman DJ2AD - Tourneau July 2014 SN - 225UxxxxIf you somehow own this just PM me and glad to send it to you.
