Noise when winding crown of Seamaster Planet Ocean
Hi everyone. Just purchased my brand new Seamaster PO and am loving it!! Question regarding the manual wind via crown to get the watch started. I hear this intermittent buzzing type of noise which occurs in between a smooth clicking noise. I am used to the smooth clicking in my manual wind speedy pro. But this weird, high pitched (and not very smooth) noise is strange. I can't imagine it being an issue with the movement given that it's brand new. And it's keeping time perfectly well. Any thoughts??Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just bought a 5146 - no clasp!
Hi I got carried away at a viewing today and ended up buying a 5146 annual calendar from Watch&passion (i can't post links but a google search will find it).I am delighted with the watch, but i can't help noticing it didn't come with1. A deployment clasp in gold with emblem2. the two things that slide into the watch cushion (tag and tool?)is this a deal breaker, and should i return it?I really want the clasp, as i think it makes the watch look special from underneath, maybe i can buy it separately? what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
5712 dial and movement observation
Does anyone else find it strange that of all the PP's that have used the 240 movement to create the power reserve/moonphase/small seconds asymmetric layout that the 5712 has (these include 5055, 5054, 5015, 5085 Neptune) the only one that can be deemed a success in terms of high resale and hard to come by etc is the 5712. The others I would actually rate as some of the least popular PP's from the last couple of decades.Just begs the question..... is the 5712 really an ugly duckling and only hard to get because it's in a Nautilus case??
Day-Date 18238 vs 118238
Sometime in the next year or two I would like to add a YG Day-Date to my collection (used of course). From what I see, prices for 18238s seem to be around the 10-14k mark and 14-18k for the 118238. My question is mainly how much of an improvement is there to be found in the 118238, and if it is worth the extra few thousand. I'm mostly worried about bracelet stretch, for what it's worth. Any owner input is appreciated!
Final Decision
Gents, I have gone back and forth as to which model I like and which one fits me best. I originally purchased an all black 116610 Sub that got a little boring to me, so 2 years later I traded along with cash an all black AP Offshore. I found myself never wearing black, therefore did not love that watch with any of my blue suits. I recently sold that watch and am now wanting something that I will stick with and that will look great with whatever I wear. I think the sub was just a little too plain for me. The stainless is of course young and fits my age group more. I'm 25 and am in banking. The new rose gold models are very appealing. Thoughts? My wrist size is 7. Just looking for help on what to go with!Thank you all!
