Sony Debuts The SmartWatch 2 Friend For Your Phone
Sony recently introduced the follow up to its original "Smartwatch" with the 2013 Smartwatch 2. When it comes to the smartwatch segment, we're certainly getting more and more choices to select from. Of course, the 900 pound gorilla in the room would be the rumors swirling as to whether or not Apple will get in the game (just earlier this week they registered a trademark in China for iWatch), as well as what Dell may do.Past that, many of the brands in the segment are smaller startups, which may (or may not) give the casual consumer some pause, wondering if the brand will be around in a few years to provide warranty service on the watch. For those folks, a watch carrying the Sony logo on it is likely some comfort. And make no mistake - these smartwatches are aimed at the mainstream consumer, not necessarily us watch-collecting types. In other words, we look to be blown away by something, and will compare it (inevitably) to the various mechanical watches that hit the same price point. And
Anybody have a chronoliner?
Strolled through my local AD today and tried on some breitlings for fun. Have not actively shopped for one in 5 years or so. Had a super avenger and sold that 4 years back so my Breitling collection consists solely of my navitimer world which I have had for a decade. Heres a couple pics as I failed to get any at the AD. I love the mesh bracelet and overall aesthetic. My only concern is the size which is 46mm. Being a pilots watch this shouldn't be as big a deal but I always consider comfort first. I'll admit it's not first on my list but I liked it a lot more than I would've thought before seeing it. So anyone have it and want to share some pics?
Can someone tell me more about this vintage Chronomat Ref 818?
Hello Breitling Forum members...I typically lurk on the Rolex Forums but I need some help please regarding my recent acquisition of this vintage Breitling Chronomat reference 818. My internet research indicates it is from about 1971 and houses a Valjoux 7733 manual winding movement. The watch is keeping very good time and the Chrono functions seem to work quite well. I know it's called a Big Case (48mm) and for good reason. Can anyone advise me on anything else I should know about this very nice vintage Breitling Chronomat? I am not sure if I want to flip it for something else or get the crystal buffed or replaced and enjoy it...it's kind of big even by today's standards. Any value estimations would also be much appreciated. Thanks much...Frank
Anyone else surprised not to see this on the PP website?
By this I mean the advanced research 5650G, I love it, unfortunately my AD's is already going to another client, and anyways can't justify getting another watch this year, the 5711 and Daytona will have already done a dent in my watch budget, but not too big, but the Vouti has been paid upfront 70% and still need to add 30% to get that bad boy, so adding the 30% plus 52.000 CHF for the Aquanaut on top is quite impossible this year, too bad as I really find it very interesting. How do you guys like it?https://.hodinkee/articles/th...anced-research
What would you consider? Patek, Rolex, other
So, here is the current State of the Collection.I'm tying to get something a little more special for my next.I love the 16610 and the 116610LV. The Black Bay is incredible to look at, but if I'm honest, I gravitate to the Submariners, but it is such a value, I don't see selling it as much of a benefit. Right now the PAM 232 price is in the TANK. Seriously, if anyone has thought about getting one before, get it now. The brown on the dial is perfect. I'm wearing this one today, but I feel like I can't wear it all the time due to its size.I've had a couple PCL models now that have come and gone. The 116710LN and the 116520 black dial. Something about the Daytona, I always thought I would mar it up and that isn't a watch that looks good scratched IMHO. Because of this I have shied away from AP 15300/15202. Those things are to pretty to scratch! Feel like I'd be holding my wrist away from my body all the time and look like a nut.At the time I felt the 116710LN didn't fit me well a
