Seiko Coutura Watch On TV: Watch Advertising Hits The Mainstream
For a long time in the US, watch Advertising was limited to spots in the Wall Street Journal and financial or business magazines (not to mention the limited number of watch magazines such as WatchTime, Revolution, International Watch, and others). Rolex was the king of the advertising heap, but you weren't about to a Rolex advertisement on television. Last night however, that all changed when I saw a television commercial for a Seiko Coutura watch.Seiko has been working very hard to move upmarket. For a long time, they have had a bit of a "cheap Japanese watch" persona. While they made very good watches, they were sort of undervalued in the US for those who did not value their quality diving watches. In the past several years, they started to release some more interesting watches along with some very interesting movements. Seiko brought us the Kinetic movement (which uses a rotor like an automatic movement to charge the battery), and now the Spring Drive (also uses a rotor, but actuall
First AP
Got my first AP today (pre-owned 25730). For my 6.3 wrist a 37mm works better for most ocassions. I was seriously tempted by a 39mm 26300, but the better fit and versatility of the 37mm for my wrist size won out (for now). Also considered the 15450, but decided I preferred the more casual look and the usefulness of the second time zone (and the blue 15450 isn't available). Very few photos do justice (mine certainly doesn't) to the beauty and level of finishing of an AP. Have a feeling this watch will get more than it's fair share of wrist time for a little while.
Iced my Avenger II GMT
Loving the new Avenger II GMT, perfect size and profile for daily wear, but I wanted a little more pop. Had my jeweler buddy do his magic and here's the results!! IMO the black dial and diamonds just make it POP!! Tx for looking!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ceramic Bezel PO is a reality..
blog.perpetuelle/index.ph...ocean-is-here/This is a limited edition (1948 pieces [First year of the Seamaster]) Planet Ocean with standard 2500c movement. The differences are a new ceramic bezel with hardened glass metal over it. It also features a glossy dial, applied arabics, applied OMEGA wording, and red applied Seamaster script. It looks AWESOME! Obviously!
What is the longest period between winding your watch ?
I wear my Airking every day, except for Saturday when it's off half the dayWill it work for the next 5 years until it's first service or is it better I wind it occasionally ?I read somewhere that automatics are more accurate if fully wound manually every so often my. Is this true ?Has anyone only ever wound their watch once when they bought it :)
