GIVEAWAY: Nivrel Deep Ocean GMT Automatic Watch
I've always liked German Nivrel's dive watches. The newest one is the Deep Ocean GMT; a mechanical GMT watch with a elegantly purposeful design. The steel case is 43mm wide with a rotating 24 hour bezel and black dial with easy to read hour markers and hands coated in SuperLumiNova. It isn't too thick at 13mm either. The case has a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to an impressive 500 meters.Inside the Deep Ocean is a base Swiss ETA 2836 automatic GMT movement. With the bezel you can track three separate timezone with the watch. Attached to the Deep Ocean GMT is a steel bracelet, but Nivrel also includes a silicone strap and changing tool. Overall the attractive diver is a good value as well as good performer. Price is 899 Euros (about $1,100 and available Nivrel's website), but you have a change to win one by entering below. To Enter You Must: 1. Hands-on with the Second Generation Anstead Oceanis
When I heard last spring that Tom Anstead was going to come out with an updated version of his Kickstarter-fueled Oceanis, I was eager to get it on my wrist. I'd reviewed the first generation piece and had mentioned a few improvements I was hoping for in a next generation watch, including some quality control. I was eager to see how the boutique brand had addressed them. The good news is, they did indeed address quality control, and a few other things too. I don't mean this to be a head to head comparison of the Gen I and II versions, but comparisons are inevitable when discussing evolutionary models. I'll keep them to a minimum.Anstead Oceanis Gen II ReviewCase: 316L SteelMovement: Miyota 9015Dial: BlackLume: SuperLuminovaLens: SapphireStrap: Steel BraceletWater Res.: 300mDimensions: 44 x 49 mmThickness: 14.3 mmLug Width: 22 mmCrown: screwdownWarranty: 1 year, limitedPrice: $649CaseThe Oceanis' case is machined from 316L stainless steel. 316L is particularly resistant to corrosion (you

New Old Stock Issues?
Hi All,I am looking into purchasing a new old stock Sub with A serial (1999), and was wondering if there are issues with a watch which has literally never been used or serviced for this long. I was planning to take the watch into RSC for service immediately, but wasn't sure if there are potential risks with other parts and which will in turn drive up my costs. Let me know your thoughts and/or experiences with something like this. Thanks in advance!!
