Patek Philippe Celebrates its 175th Anniversary
May 1, 2014, marks an important milestone in the Swiss watch industry. It is 175 years ago to the day that Patek Philippe perhaps the world’s most prestigious Swiss watch brand, and the last family-owned watch company in Geneva was founded. In a letter released to the press, Patek Philippe president Thierry Stern states:“Today, May 1, 2014, I am happy to announce the 175th anniversary of Patek Philippe, and the imminent launch of a special timeline at patek to showcase our history – the longest uninterrupted history of any watch brand. The timeline will be continuously enriched throughout the year, with fascinating stories from our past and present.“We believe that one of the secrets of our success has been our independence (we are the last family-owned watch manufacture in Geneva). Over the years, this freedom has allowed us to be truly creative, innovative, and pioneering – as demonstrated in our impressive repertoire of patents, our unique designs, a
aBlogtoRead.com Traffic Control Warns Of Delays
As you know aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer has been currently working to make itself at home on a new, more powerful server. The initial migration was only partially successful. Which is why aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer currently has limited functionality. For instance you can't contact me vial e-mail here, though there is always Twitter. Tweet me here at aBlogtoRead. The short of it is that aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer will be experiencing more down time this weekend. 48 hours max, on and off. So wish me luck, and know that all of this will be cleared up soon. I won't stop until it is back at 110%. I'll be back with more watch love so very soon.
Omega Seamaster Ploprof. Anyone has one? Thoughts?
I really like the look of big watches and right now I have a Breitling Super Avenger 2 (48mm), a Panerai Pam 90 (44mm) and a Rolex Submariner Bluesy (40mm). I really love the unique look of the Ploprof date especially with the white band. Any thoughts?
Hey guys. Help needed on my first Omega purchase - a Speedmaster
Hey guys, hope you are all doing well.I have to start by saying that I am relatively new in the watch world.I have currently a Rolex SS Sub, and a Patek Aquanaut. Both watches that I enjoy and wear a lot. After much consideration, and lurking around, I want to add more complications to my collection over the years, and I would love to start with a Chrono. At first I was thinking of a Daytona. In all honesty, I didn't fall in love with it as much as others have, it just didn't sing to me as much. Then I cam across the speed master. I absolutely love the history of that piece. Omega brings more diversity to my collection which I also like.I just see so many different versions, and am a little lost on which ones are the more admired ones. How does one pick from so many different versions. Are the numbered edition special?I have recently seen one on a leather strap.Appreciate your help and thank you!
