Speedmaster Marker Colors
First time posting in the Omega forums! I am looking a Speedmaster Professionals from the 70's. Why do some markers show a nice golden patina while others appear to be green?
Inventory Syndication
it would be nice if there was a website that listed the available watch inventory similar to what Autotrader does for cars.Wouldn't this make more sense than having customers resort to calling around various ADs ?Can't patek do this on their own website? Showing eta's of various models etc?
First Perpetual Calendar with 240Q?
Hi all,I've been very interested in getting a PP perpetual calendar for a while now (got very close last year but seller was awful to deal with and put me off!). I've started to develop a small collection of watches with new/innovative movements e.g. Rolex Datejust with 3135, 2001 Daytona with 4130, B01 Navitimer so would be keen to know which PP watch and when was the first to receive the 240Q? Was it a 3940 or something before that?
Daytona finally arrived! but...
I live in Chicago, but my family are in Taiwan. Beginning of this year, I asked my brother to put his name on the list for a ceramic Daytona at a authorized dealer where we have bought a few watches from. My brother called me this morning saying a lady at the dealer said they just got a black dial Daytona in and we are on top of the list. Even though white dial is my first choice, I would take a black one any day. I immediately asked my brother to contact the lady and told her we will pay a deposit over the phone to hold it and will pick it up the next day. MSRP in Taiwan is about NT400,000 (USD 13,000). My brother asked if 20% deposit is enough. She said sure, that would be NT100,000 (USD 3600). That's when my brother asked the question, how much is it? The lady responded sticker price is NT400,000, we are selling it for NT500,000. I told him to tell her we are not interested. But I was pretty upset. At least in US, the dealers do not overcharge.
