Luminox Recon Nav SPC Watch
Luminox has announced a new model called the Recon Nav SPC (Navigation Specialist) which offers a feature set that the fifteen-year-old Me would have killed to have for orienteering meets. This new model looks to be a complete solution for map-based navigation when you're out in the wild and need to chart a path back to civilization. Featuring a walking-pace tachymeter, a strap-mounted compass and a strap which can be used to calculate distances on a map, this Luminox is an old-school analog navigation tool in a modern platform. The Nav SPC employs a 46mm carbon reinforced polycarbonate case with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and the Luminox-standard compliment of tritium tubes for low-light illumination of the hands, markers and bezel position. The design is obviously that of a Luminox, but the dial markers are oddly asymmetrical with 1 through 8 (blue illumination) in an orientation that is parallel to the dial edge and 9 to 12 (yellow illumination) in a more traditional perpend
Hublot King Power Miami Heat Chronograph Watch
OK come on, this watch is cool. I am not even a basketball or Miami Heat fan, but this watch is really cool. It doesn't take a lot of thought to understand why Hublot is doing well with the aspirational youth audience or wealthy individuals who wouldn't take a Patek out for a night on the town in fear that they might fall asleep at 9:30pm from a lack of visual excitement. This watch is really what Hublot is doing best. The designs we see might sometimes be redundant or predictable, but they are still cool.I talked about Hublot and the Miami Heat a while go here in an enjoyable article. First they produced a limited edition watch for Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade, then announced that they would be the official watch maker and timer of the Miami Heat, and here is the first Miami Heat watch. It is called the Hublot King Power Miami Heat Chronograph and will be produced as a limited edition of 200 pieces. The number 48 appears three times in the watch. The 18k King gold (red gold mixed with
Ap 15450
I just thought i would share some pics of my recent purchase. I wanted a RO that i could wear in more dressy situations, hence my choice for a silver dial and for a 37mm. Had to add two links since i have a large wrist. So far, i really love it. Dial looks great, with varying colors depending on lighting. 3120 movement works well and is great to look at. And the ST bracelet is divine.Have not seen much love for the 15450 on the forum. But i am quite new on TrfCheers
Something new from Omega
Bill (gaopa) and I stopped by a local AD last Saturday on our way to the GTG at Pappasito's. We had a nice visit although Bill resisted picking up a new PO that he tried on. Fortunately, they did not have the watch I wanted in stock so neither of us added to our collections. But we did walk out with some neat swag:As some of you golfers may know, the PGA Championship will be held at the Atlanta Athletic Club next week and the AD will have more Omegas in stock than their normal inventories of Rolex and Breitling combined. Hopefully, the 2011 POs will have arrived as well.Fr. John?
I joined the Speedy club
Hey All,Recently came across an Speedy Broad Arrow Re issue 1957 on a local vintage watch dealer, tried it in the store and instantly fall in love with it (did not bought it at the store as they were asking too much). Don't really understand why a SpeedMaster is not in my collection in my early days of becoming a WIS is beyond me..:-sPicked this one up from a trusted dealer here in TRF, thanks Mr.W!Now I truly understand the allure of the SpeedMaster; classic design, rich history, iconic watch! It is hard to resist this beautiful timepiece from Omega!Enough talk..here are some pics, not great ones as I took them in the office with the Iphone and some photoshop tweaks. And yes..I have realized this Speedy should be 3594.50..not what it is on the electronic bean counter..silly me
