Swarovski Octea Sport Ladies' Watch
Swarovski is making bold moves, ladies! (Guys, be at least idly aware). While other brands are scaling back and trying to focus on how to stay relevant in these times - Swarovski is taking their beloved crystals and developing their own line of watches, to properly exhibit the beauty - on a timepiece. My initial thought upon seeing the new line of watches from Swarovski was that it looks so familiar I tried to think of the exact predominantly women's brands that it reminded me of, and then I realized - all of them. Chanel - Dior - Nixon - Tag Heuer. You cannot escape those immediate parallels. The comparisons to the Dior Christal Collection and the Chanel J12 are too clear. But, with changing markets and a severe change in consumer spending, it is adaptations like this - with crystal instead of sapphires or diamonds - that will really help people and brands carry through to the other side of this recession. Give them what they want - compromise a little it - and still get a great prod
Introducing: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin Openworked, Now In Yellow Gold
Back at SIHH 2012, Audemars Piguet released the Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin Openworked in platinum. This watch was an instant high-end hit and people (especially people here at HODINKEE) loved it. So you can imagine our excitement to see that AP has re-released the Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin, now in yellow gold. 1 OF 2 As you may know, Audemars Piguet is known for their openworked watches and the great amount of craftsmanship that goes into each piece is incredible. The first skeletonized AP was created around 1921 (a pocket watch with skeletonized dial) and the first skeletonized Royal Oak was made in 1986 (1993 for the first skeletonized women’s Royal Oak), so they have had plenty of time to perfect the technique. ADVERTISEMENT Just like the original Extra-Thin Tourbillon Openworked, the caliber 2924 movement (which was brand new back in 2012, celebrating 40 years of Royal Oak) is used in the new yellow-gold piece. Advice on selling my Tudor BBB
So, you can see over there < that I've only racked up a few posts on this forum, which poses a problem because I'm looking for the safest way to sell my Tudor Black Bay Bronze. I bought my first grown up watch (a GMT II) this last Fall and then went bonkers buying follow-up goodies in a frenzy. I've since slowed, and want to thin the herd a bit. I've now bought 4 watches, and the BBB is the only one I bought used. I've looked at a bajillion FS ads here to try to get more info, but I need insight from some of you forum veterans. Here are my questions:- will anyone take my FS ad seriously on this forum if I have no history here?- should I be worried about scammers if I'm the seller?- would I face the same kind of scrutiny on chrono24?- what can I do to prove trustworthy to potential buyers? Thanks in advance, y'all.
