Gevril GV2 Corsaro Chronograph Is Example Of What To Watch Out For
I have a lot of respect for the people at Gevril and the Gevril Group overall - especially here in the US. However, this is a watch that I needed to go off on for a few reasons. You can see a lot of the BS in this industry by examining some of the details surrounding this watch and the way it is marketed. Items like this provide a good example at why being an educated watch buyer makes sense. This watch is the "limited edition" GV2 Corsaro Chronograph watch. GV2 is a sub-brand under the higher-end Gevril brand. In the last few years, GV2 has moved around a bit in terms of market placement, but has tried to remain an affordable mechanical watch. They apply the term limited edition without discussing the number?of the limited edition in the marketing materials. What does that mean? It means they don't know and it will just be produced as long as they can sell units. That sometimes means not even a full series are made. In other situations it means a brand will produce more than the limite
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore G series vs H series
Hey everyone new to the forum just wanted to know if anyone has a info or a link to somewhere that lists out the differences between serials on the Royal Oak specifically Rubberclad between G series and H seriesI see the Chrono second hand is White (G) vs Silver (H)Same for the AP logo white v silverThe date window the G has white with black writing and H has black with white writing And the numbers seem to be more bright white on H vs G they are little tinted yellow in which you can tell they will Glow in the dark Are there more differences? is this something that's just between G and H or they just happen to be different serials but do not define the change. Thanks
a Birthday surprise!
This past week I had the pleasure of re-visiting the place of my birth: Guam, in the Mariana Islands. My father lives in Japan, and to those in Japan it's an easier trip than say Hawai'i for warm weather (it's snowing in Japan today). He planned a two day father & son birthday trip, something we haven't done in many, many years. (it's been at least 13-14 years since I've seen this tiny little island).Anyways, the main point of the story is, for my birthday he surprised me with a Stainless Steel Diver. As obscure as this island is, they have a few watch boutiques, and AP is one of them (I believe it is operated under the wing of Audemars Piguet Japan, my warranty book lists Japan as the origin...the CEO of AP Japan was actually visiting the shop while I was browsing). My father had visited the island two months ago, and had them set it aside. I knew there was an AP boutique based on some recon I did before going and suggested we walk in, and to my surprise it was already waiting for
