UPDATE: Brand New ROO second visit to service center
So it seems like a smaller grouping of threads around these parts so you likely read one, or two of my previous threads regarding issues with my 3 month old ROO 42mm. He told me he's been testing my watch and it seems to be within their standards and specifications.Obviously this is great. Since the beginning I've only wanted a watch in good working order that I wouldn't have to send in for repair.Here's the bad news, or really I should say more annoying news. As you know, since getting my watch back from the first visit to APSC, I'd noticed a sound coming from the movement. Never heard it before, combined with the fact that the grinding/rough sound of winding and screwing the crown down was still there I considered sending it back in.He told me in his email that the grinding sound I heard was normal. A friend came across the watch below last evening, used to belong to his late father-in-law. He's done some looking on the 'net but hasn't come up with a similar one without the Officially Certified under Chronometer on the dial.. Can anybody flesh out any info on this? Thanks.

Patek for a noob
Considering buying a used Patek as a daily wearer and my 1st Patek, for a bit north of $20,000. Work in an office on weekdays and typically wear business casual on weekends (shorts in summer). Can't stand Patek sport watches (Nautilis, Aquanat, etc.) Prefer yellow/pink/rose gold to white gold/platinum. Going against the Patek aesthetic, I like watches that attract attention, so a larger size would probably be best .Saw a 5170J with silver dial in person and loved it vs. the few other (smaller) Pateks on display but at 45-50K used, it's way out of my price range. A 5205R-001 would probably also fit the bill but again too expensive. Considering stretching to a 5146. (I've never seen any of the latter two watches in person.)Any recommendations?

New Pepsi Really a Raspberry
I have not handled one, but I have seen tons of pictures side by side.I don��t like the blue which is purplish, nor the red which is pinkish. The bezel looks like a raspberry and does not deserve to be called the Pepsi. I will not be a taker of this watch until Rolex gets the colors right.

Another great heirloom story
So my father surprised me yesterday. I had asked if he still had my Grandfathers Rolex as I wanted to see it and perhaps share photos with you other Rolex nerds. Well he finally found it and long story short it has passed down one more generation. I don't know anything about it aside from my Grandfather was gifted it after he finished building the main hospital in Valetta, Malta in the 1950's If any of you know what model it is and value please chime in. Also i would like to have the movement checked out. It does run, after a couple turns of the crown but if the moment isn't A ok i don't want to cause damage.
