Much of the world’s economy may still be in the doldrums, but the secondary market for fine timepieces appears to be in good health. Christie's, the world's leading auction house, recently reported a boost in global sales for fine, rare and unique watches. Pointing to rare timepieces as a sound investment, Christie's posted a five percent increase in revenue from watch sales alone, topping off the first half of 2012 at $62.9 million.? Of its top 10 watch sales of the first half of 2012, Christie’s reports that half shattered major auction records to date. not so easy to tell from the dial strange to many but maybe understood here....took this pic when working at home before a vacation. had to spend time with a few pieces not making the trip since i'd miss them.

Watch / clothing combos
Hi guys,From a design standpoint I really like a lot of the rolex sports models e.g. Coke GMT, BLRO, hulk, BLNR etc but it seems like some of these popular models aren't as versatile as say a SS sub/GMT.I usually dress business casual (shirt, chinos, sportscoat) and find I can wear my 114060 with anything, and if I had a Batman it could pair easily enough with a navy sportscoat or blue shirt etc What clothing do you wear with pepsi/coke/hulk which doesn't clash with the colours of the watches? I prefer watches to blend in with clothing so they don't pop out as a statement piece...Looking forward to your replies and perhaps some images to showcase some ideas.

Question - GMT Master II 16710
Was in an AD this afternoon browsing and came across a GMT Master II in their used/estate jewelry area. Took a look and was told by the salesman that the watch was a Y serial from approximately 2002. The bracelet had SEL and the case had lug holes. It appeared to me (admittedly a novice) to match what I would expect a 2002 Y serial to be based on my research. I was also told that the watch was serviced in house by their Rolex trained watchmaker and was guaranteed to have all authentic parts. I asked whether the dial, hands, and bezel were original or replaced during service, but the salesman didn't know. What struck me as odd was the dial had Swiss T<25 below the 6 o'clock position. I didn't expect a tritium dial on a circa 2002 watch. Does anybody know if some of these dials were still being used in 2002? I would have expected a Swiss Made dial and Superluminova. I guess it's possible that the dial was replaced during service with a dial the watchmaker had left over, but it was my
