Rolex Now Offers 5-Year Warranty For All New Watches, Confirms 10-Year Service Intervals
Big news for those who have been considering the purchase of a new Rolex watch from an authorized retailer: Rolex has recently announced (and confirmed) that it will be offering a 5-year warranty to go with all watches sold, starting from July 1, 2015 from authorized dealers. If you have made a Rolex purchase sometime?during the last two years, i.e., between?July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2015, you are not missing out entirely on this highly noteworthy upgrade either: for watches sold during this period of time, Rolex provides 1 extra year of warranty free of charge, extending the original two?now to?a total of three years of the manufacturer's warranty. This is for all Oyster and Cellini family watches.Rolex?performed this upgrade in its peculiar "Rolex way," not making a big fuss about it C in fact, the announcement made it to retailers only,?and neither to the brand's marketing channels, nor directly to members of the press. And while we are waiting for?this information to be confirmed b

My first Panerai - An Object of Italian Design
Hello Forum members! Over these past 3 or 4 weeks my son's, who both have Panerai 111 timepieces, have given me the bug to buy my first Panerai! I frequently travel to Firenze on business and unfortunately it never occurred to me that I could have visited the original site of where Panerai started. During a recent trip to France, a co-worker had on a GMT that he bought years ago before they became popular when he was working at my company's manufacturing site in Firenze. That event, coupled with my son's influence, I ended up buying the model 512 you see pictured in this post, along with my other Italian prized toy.
My Datejust 16233 on an Everest Crocodile Strap
I've owned my circa 1988 16233 TT DJ since the early 2000's. Always had it on its Jubilee bracelet and wanted to try something new...I think it turned out well. I really like this brown crocodile Everest strap. IMO, it is up to the quality level to be on a Rolex.
In honor my late father, my new Rolex
I'm not usually one who refers to certain Rolex watches by nicknames such as Hulk and Batman. But I now have a new piece in my collection that will proudly refer to as Kermit.I don't know why I didn't pursue one of these watches previously. I very much liked them but didn't see myself owning one. But after meeting a gentleman on a cruise ship recently who was wearing one and having a conversation about it and then also perusing the many photos on this forum and elsewhere for months, I decided I had to have one to join my GMT BLNR, Daytona Ceramic and SubC Date. So yesterday it arrived and I love it. I've had other Rolex watches come and go also, but this one shall not leave. So why does it honor my late father? Well, you see my father's name was Kermit. In fact, my middle name is also Kermit. So yes, this is definitely a watch I should own. It's an unusual name, yes, but a very personal name for me - not just a green muppets character. And when I wear it I will always think of
