SalonQP 2011 Watch Show In London
While I won't be attending there this year (I did go last year), I do invite you to attend the 2011 annual SalonQP watch show event in London. The focus is on English watch makers, but that is just part of the show. For the third iteration of the event, the planners have moved it to the Saatchi Gallery in London and it will be held from November 10-12, 2011. Do check it out if you are in the area.

Review: Helson Sharkmaster 1000
As with the Helson Skindiver and the Steinhart Ocean Vintage Military, it is important to know the facts about the watch the Sharkmaster 1000 is based on, in order to have a full appreciation and understanding of why Helson even bothered to make this watch. Thank you to all who shared their insights over the weekend in my original thread Thoughts on the panerai 562 as a first panerai . I walked by the panerai boutique last Thursday and decided to take a look inside. When I ask the gentleman if he had any base models available, he showed me a panerai 562 �C a base pam in titanium with a chocolate dial and matching alligator strap. I strapped it on and it just felt right on my wrist. Still I thought I would sleep on it and at the same time ask the folks over at TRF about the watch, since I really had no idea about panerais and titanium watches. Many in the forum shared good things about the watch, and as the weekend passed, the excitement of strapping it on again only grew more intense. I came across another panerai �C a used but mint 112, an iconic model for sure. But it wasn't titanium, it wasn't a choco dial, and it didn't have a matching alligator strap. I kept thinking about getting the 112, but it just didn't stir any emotion.
