At The Maurice Lacroix Watch Manufacture
A few months ago I got to visit the Maurice Lacroix watch manufacture in Saignelgier, Switzerland. No, I still can't pronounce the name of the city, but the building itself was surprisingly modern and well-designed. While relatively new, Maurice Lacroix as a brand is also pretty new in the scheme of other Swiss watches in the area. The brand was founded in 1975 with ties to the area going back to the early 1960s I believe. What you need to know about Maurice Lacroix is that they are among the few Swiss watch brands that aim to have an independent spirit, but also a sense of affordability to their products. It is true that they have strived to push themselves upmarket in the last few years, but at heart they still want to be the Swiss watch brands for everybody.A picture in this article shows a pile of movements cased in plastic housings. I snapped that picture 'as is' in the manufacture showing a large amount of ETA movements sitting like candy in a large bin. The majority of Maurice L
Introducing: The Patek Philippe 5327, A Brand New Perpetual Calendar Model In A New 39mm Case (Live Pics)
This year, Patek put the focus on higher end complications, not the least of which is the perpetual calendar. We have an entirely new reference in the 5327, which is very much the same in the grand scheme of things, thought very much different in the world of Patek Philippe. The watch replaces the 5140, though the 5140 will remain in production in a black tuxedo dial and a new grey dial, both in platinum for a limited time. The 5327's story is all about the case and dial, and in some way offers a lot of what modern Patek buyers might want C a larger case and Breguet dial. 1 OF 3 The 5327 shares a similar case design to the Calatrava 5227. First, one must understand that the 5327 uses the very same movement that has existed with Patek perpetuals for 35+ years C caliber 240Q. So that means, technically, you'll have roughly the same movement as you'll see in the 5140 and the 3940 before that. With that comes a great micro-rotor, self-winding caliber that is quite thin,

The a call from my dealer yesterday.....
Hi GuysYou know you don't normally get calls from your Rolex dealer and when they do call you, it is usually to tell you that your watch has arrived. Well, I got a missed call from my favorite dealer yesterday. Since there is only one watch that I am waiting/on the list for, I thought OMG, my White dial Daytona C is here!!!. I called back on the owner's cellphone. He answered and said I got good news for you, young man!, You are first on the list for the new SS GMT II if you want it!. Honestly.. I was a... little disappointed, but it was ok. After all, it has only been about 8 months since I got on the waiting list. So I put a small deposit down and now I am first to get the Rolex SS Pepsi I just hope the Daytona doesn't show up too soon
