Sotheby’s Collector Timepieces in Geneva
On May 10 at Geneva’s Beau-Rivage Hotel, Sotheby’s will offer vintage and modern collectible timepieces including Patek Philippe Refs. 5959P and 2499 (fourth series), and a historically important gold, enamel and diamond presentation pocket watch most likely made for King Ludwig II of Bavaria circa 1880.
the new Burberry watch is also proposed with a steel case
The basic functions are brought to life by a robust quartz movement. The new Cape Cod Tonneau Bleu de Malte watch is mounted on a single or double tour Maltese Blue smooth calfskin strap. Adorned with grey stitching, it terminates in a steel pin buckle. The gem-set interpretation of the new Burberry watch is also proposed with a steel case. Its surface, however, is brightened by Top Wesselton VVS brilliant-cut diamonds. The overall weight of 52 precious stones comes to 1.3 carats.
Arizona Guys
I have a good service story for you all. My Breitling Evolution was getting tighter on my wrist in the last 6 months and as hard as I looked I could not come up with the two links I had removed 8 years ago when the watch was bought.I decided to stop by Ganem Jewelers in North Scottsdale to have them order me a link. I had seen one on e-bay for $139 but thought I would compare prices at the AD. plus, I love looking in the pre-owned caseTheir certified Breitling Watchmaker, the only one in the state they claim, looks at it and says hold on. He comes back and says a new link is $75 but if you have a few minutes I may have one in my parts bin.He comes back about 5 minutes later and has found a link and say he will put it on and polish the entire band for $50 if I have 15 minutes to kill.I was happy, the watch and band look great and it feels a lot more comfortable now
SS bracelet for Chrono Evolution...

Speedmaster Modification
I have always been a fan of the Omega Speedmaster - in fact, my first real watch was a 3570.50, which i purchased after much saving and much research several years back. However, over the years, I've grown more fond of the look of vintage speedmasters, with applied omega logos and more slender baton markers. So, i ended up modifying my speedmaster, at least for the time being, so that it looks similar to a vintage model, but has the personal attachment (and much lower price tag) of my modern version. First, i replaced the bracelet with a 1171, as I never particularly liked the modern version. Next, I replaced the dial with one from the 3594.50 re-issue (raised logo, no professional, as it fits the 1861 movement and looks like a more vintage iteration). Finally, in order to appreciate the movement, I replaced the solid caseback with a sapphire version, keeping the hesalite crystal in place on the front dial. I am definitely happy with the end product, and have all of the original
