Top 20 Swiss Chronometer Watch Brands: Rolex Leads the Pack
Here, we examine data from COSC that reveals the top 20 Swiss watch brands by number of COSC chronometer certificates issued to them in 2012. An interesting list for fans of swiss made watches. In 2012, COSC (Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronomtres), the official chronometer certification agency of Switzerland, issued 1.73 million chronometer certificates for swiss made watches. This marks a record high, up 6 percent over chronometer production in 2011. The 6-percent rise comes on top of a giant jump in 2011, when chronometer certificates increased by 28 percent. According to COSC's data, which WatchTime obtained from the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, an additional 87,911 timepieces were submitted to COSC that did not pass the certification process for swiss made watches. In order for a watch to bear COSC's official title of chronometer, its movement must pass an extensive battery of tests. Although COSC does not test finished watches, it measures the accuracy of a movement i

Ceramic questions
Just a general question, from theoretical standpoint, ceramic doesn't dull or dent correct? Just picks up material that brushes up against it unless it's a material harder than it on the vickers scale?
Forged carbon Ginza or Legacy
Hi all,New here and going through my first purchase of a API often go to Japan with my Job, and have just loved the Ginza the moment I saw it, went to the boutique and put a deposit down. i collect her in October when I'm back in Japan, The clear case back, the dial details etc just love it and limited to 200 so I think would be quite collectableBut I have taken a little shine to the LegacyWhats the thoughts on this watch, with everybody, I did try the watch for size its quite heavy a demerit for me, and the strap also thought was naffWould i be right in thinking although limited not so collectible I see many for saleAppreciate your thoughtsAnd no I cant buy both, taken me long enough to save for my intended Ginza
Is the current Patek collection their best ever
Hi guys, for the purpose of the poll this is asking about the watches only. So if you can, please ignore any other aspects of the brand, eg pricing, servicing, QC, production volumes, the number of iterations of the 5270 etc. I'm saying Yes. I had a look at a brochure from 2006 as I needed a benchmark and I wanted to compare to an era when Philippe was still president. In my personal opinion over the last nearly 10 years, the current collection has become much more appealing. Some of my favourites we have now which did not have a direct equivalent from the 2006 brochure: 5711 (although released late 2006 it's not in the brochure), 5980, 5990, 5164, 5235, 5131, 5370, 5208, 5205, 5227. The tricky middle ground where we have similar watches then and now. My view on some of these masterpieces:5970 v 5270. My vote is the modern 5270, post Basel 2015. 5004 v 5204. I'm going modern again if for nothing else than the more contemporary size. 5070 v 5170. It has to be the classic 5070. Will this
