Sotheby��s Reveals Important Watches For May, 2014 Auction
Sponsored PostSotheby's is offering a varied selection of wristwatches, ranging from divers to rare chronographs in their Spring sale, taking place on 14th May, 2014 in Geneva.The morning auction will kick off with an array of modern Rolex Daytonas, which offer a variety of dial styles. The reference 16520 is well represented with two well-preserved watches, lots 34 and 35, featuring a floating Cosmograph dial. The so-called floating dial shows the designation Cosmograph with a marked distance from the Officially Certified line above. Another reference 16520 (lot 53) from a transitional period, believed to have been produced for one year only, displays a rare dial which does not include the Officially Certified feature.In the afternoon, vintage sports model wristwatches will be the stars of the rostrum. Yay or nay? I'm leaning towards the trade given the heritage and collectibility of the 15202. Also with the recent Michael Schumacher concept - an inhouse AP chrono would be be the logical next step!!

Navitimer 50th Anniversary
I had been looking for a Navitimer on a bracelet for some time but very few seem to come up for sale on the pre-owned market. Last March I was lucky enough to find a 50th Anniversary Edition A41322 I bought it even thgough it had a few problems including a sticking stem and was in need of a service.I have always liked this version because it has the old Breitling doublewing logo (first used on the Navitimer around 1960) of two planes flying in close formation. The case and bracelet are brushed in contrast to the shiny polished finish usually found on modern Navitimers. The movement is the B.41 an ETA 2892-A2 base with Dubois Depraz chronograph module.Anyway here it is many months after it went to Breitling!

Any Patek Philippe Owners?
Are there many Patek Philippe owners on here either in the UK or Stateside?I've owned an Aquanaut and Gondola now for a year or so but have been longing for a Grand Complication for the last few years.Anyone know of a good place to get a deal on one? Dealers in the UK just don't want to do any sort of deal and we get absolutely hammered with tax.Would it be worth a trip stateside or are there any reputable dealers that will ship to the UK?I'd pref like to either trade in my 2 patek's or sell them on first, again something which dealers in the UK aren't interested in doing.Cheers,Mike.

I was the first watch guy in my family. I purchased my first Rolex at 25. I'm now 28. This year I sourced a 14060M for my dad and a 16234 / 1501 (solid gold) for my brother. This was the first time we were all together wearing our watches. We all got together for dinner from different parts of the province because I just got engaged last Sunday and we were having a little celebration!
