Photo Report: Recapping The HODINKEE Celebration Of Seiko's New NYC Boutique
A few weeks back, we took you inside the new Madison Avenue Seiko boutique to show just how special its offerings would be. The response has been incredible, and last night, we invited some of our dedicated, Seiko-loving friends to join us in a private HODINKEE celebration of this new mecca of horology in mid-town NYC. 2 OF 46 The packed house was complete with young collectors and old, seasoned and newbies. The range of interests spanned as wide as what Seiko had to offer, with not only countless Seiko 5 and divers on hand, but several hi-beat time-only pieces and many GMT's. 3 OF 46 One of the highlights was certainly the limited edition green dial hi-beat GMT that we featured on HODINKEE here. The crowd was unanimous in its praise for the piece, and some called it the most beautiful GMT they'd ever seen with this particular green dial. 4 OF 46 On hand to demonstrate just what makes Seiko so special was a master craftsman who came in
Bring a Loupe: A Submariner You Probably Haven't Seen Before, An Enicar You Likely Did Not Know, And A Heuer Autavia You Absolutely Should Not Buy
This week's Bring A Loupe will cover rare and attractive watches, available right now on eBay and at upcoming European auctions. Among our picks, you should not miss one of the rarest Tudor Submariners: the reference 7923, an early diver with a manually-wound movement. You will also find a white dial chronograph from Enicar, and a highly controversial Heuer Autavia. Dive watches will be represented, with a rare Longines and a funky Universal Geneve. This is your Bring A Loupe for November 20, 2015. A Funky Polerouter Sub From Universal Geneve C A Lot Of Orange At Once 1 OF 12 The second execution of the Polerouter Sub makes the first execution that we covered here appear almost conventional in comparison. Design-wise the second execution announced the 1970's with its bright orange hands, its large asymmetrical case, and the innovative indexes. Like the first execution, it houses an automatic movement with micro-rotor, the caliber 69, a rare feature in a div
AP Rose Gold - 26470 or 15400?
I am looking to purchase an AP today or tomorrow and am torn between two rose gold options. The ROO 26470 and the RO 15400. Both on black leather straps. Any suggestions will be appreciated.I like them both, but only dilemma is if the larger ROO may go out if trend soon as smaller watches are in at the moment.
Omega buckle?
Does anyone know any good sources for authentic 16mm stainless steel Omega buckle? I just purchased a midsize seamaster and plan on installing a leather strap. It seems like the current Omega buckles have the logo embossed... Did they ever make with a large logo? eBay is rife fake buckles so I'm trying to avoid that route if possible
