Oris Big Crown X1 Calculator
On October 14, 1947, the Bell X1 undertook the first manned supersonic flight, breaking the sound barrier and entering the history books. The X1 pilots undertook their amazing feat in an age before computers and pocket calculators, relying on the specially designed “slide rule” for all calculations. The new Oris Big Crown X1 timepiece is an homage to this aviation milestone. Find wallpaper and pricing inside. In honor of the Bell X1 pilots, the Big Crown X1 Calculator incorporates a circular version of the slide rule into its design. The watch case also has a gun-metal-colored PVD coating to mirror the color of the Bell X-1 plane.Although created as a tribute to the history of aviation, the 46mm Oris Big Crown X1 Calculator will work equally well for modern pilots. The Swiss Retail Price is SFr.3,350.Product FeaturesOris Big Crown X1 CalculatorRef: 675 7648 4264 LB? HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 43
I recently learned that some people have been putting off listening to the podcast because they think we MIGHT be inanely talking products they don't care about. While there is, no doubt, discussion of pointless topics, I, myself, am quite impressed at how amusing we are. I seriously laugh at myself sometimes. We actually have quite a good show!Listen to HourTime Show watch podcast Episode 43 here.
Is buying a new Speedmaster Professional lame?
I find myself with some spending money to burn, but not enough for a new Rolex. Since I got my gen2 Exp1 in October that seems reasonable.I've finally realized that I'm just not into vintage, I'd rather start fresh and make my own way with a watch (nothing against vintage of course). Plus I'm still totally confused by the Speedmaster lineage, and I really care about nice bracelets, have heard Omega makes good ones, and also like that the new Speedmaster has screws instead of pins.So is it lame buying a new Speedmaster? For some reason it feels like it is, maybe because vintage is so in right now. I'm seriously considering a Seiko Marinemaster as well, which I think I love (apart from the bracelet), and dive watches sing to me loudly, but I dunno. I'm also knocking around buying a Seiko Sumo and saving up some more for when my wife goes to the UK in April in the hopes she could find me a no date SubC, hard as that is these days. Also does anyone pay retail for a new Speedmaster Professio
Ceramic Seamaster or Black Bay?
Hi All - I've decided that one of these two will be my next watch. I'm a few months away from securing the funds and am having a real hard time deciding on which to get. Has anyone here had a chance to try on both? I've owned quite a few Seamasters and tried on the new ceramic at a local AD. I love it. But I also can't stop looking at pics of the BB. I don't know of anyone local who has one so I haven't been able to try it on. Price is right about the same; resale on the BB should hold up better but I don't plan on flipping this one. I think I know which side this forum will favor but I'd still appreciate feedback from people who have worn one or both. Thoughts?
When is the last time you received a glass of champagne?
In Gran Canaria and happened across a 116610LN. Coming from the UK I bought it without hesitation as it's not one I have and my friend will buy it if I change my mind. (I paid less than list as well!)When I was filling in the warranty card I was offered a glass of champagne as a congratulations and thank you! I think the last time that happened to me was 6 years ago when Daytonas were not so hot. Has it happened to anyone else recently? Especially in the UK where I feel most of the time dealers think they're doing you a favour selling you or allowing you to buy one!
