Pre-Basel 2008 - Louis Erard 1931 Classic Moon Phase, A Lesson In Refinement
In a world of increasingly complicated and cluttered watch dials this new offering from Louis Erard takes a far more modest approach, with anything but modest results! Classic, unpretentious, reliable: the 1931 collection is dressed in its most beautiful finery in this chocolate-toned moon phase version. One look at its simple yet very delicate design and you will fall under its seductive spell. This timepiece doesn't so much ask for attention as command it, with its subtle features combining seamlessly into a brazen, and yet at the same time refined, statement of style. This watch will certainly not suit all comers yet this only serves to add to its allure. Like its future owners, this timepiece has no time for fanfare or frivolities. If you are looking for a new watch that will make a bold statement to the masses, then the Louis Erard is not for you. However, if you are a more refined consumer looking to reflect your sophisticated appreciation for the finer things in life, then the 19
AP ROO and Water
Pretty funny story. Always thought the AP ROO was a great water watch. Went to ABC watchwerks were i was having some families watches worked on. They were nice enough to let me bring my collection in. To get them pressure tested as i like to go in the pool with my watches if i have them on.Moral of the story is after pressure testing them all (All of them passing). He told me that he wouldn't recommend going into the water with my ROO as the pushers are not locked down. So if i happen to press the chrono pushers as i was swimming it would let water into the watch. I understand going into the pool once and a while with the watch probably nothing will happen as long as your aware but does anyone use there ROO for water recreation often.
Audemars Piguet ROO FC 26400 AU
Hi everyone,I am plannig to buy a AP ROO FC 26400 AU... Do you know what is the good price for this watch? Have good days with your AP...Thanks
Am I mad ??
I love my PO very very much but I think I've just gone mad - I've just given it to my son for his 21st Birthday.I bought a PO first and then a GMT Master IIc. Every day I looked at both of them (when I want to wear a black sports watch) and had a hard time deciding which to wear. The GMT Master IIc with it's PO LM - like materials is a nice looking watch and I love it too, but there's always been something about the PO's simplicity which kept drawing myself to it.Ultimately I thought I needed to get rid of one - hence the present of the PO to my son (I'm not going to give him a rolex - I think that would be heavily spoiling him). What do you guys think - a good decision or not ?Darwen.
Ref 2499
just in case you didn't catch this hodinkee article, i thought i'd post it here. pretty interesting how a few details can be the difference between $314,000 and $2,750,760 for the same reference.Yesterday in Geneva, Christie's watch department held its spring sale. It made over $32 million dollars, with four inidividual lots bringing in over $2 million each. The Breguet Resonance pocket watch that we showed you previously went for an amazing $4.68m, while the enamel Patek world timer that we showed you here went for over $2.9. But, one watch we didn't show you, a Patek Philippe 2499 in pink gold is the focus of this post, because it seems so simple, and yet it sold for over $2.7million. So, what made this 2499 so special when compared to, say, your average, run of the mill 2499 like this, also in yesterday's sale, that made only $314,000? The devil is in the details, my friends. What made this particular 2499 so valuable is a perfect storm of rare traits. First, is a 'first serie
