All The A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Watches
Since its birth in 1994, the A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 watch has been the brand's most iconic watch. A real gamble at the time, it proved to be a very successful design. You can also thank it for the "big date" complication - that they refer to as an "outsized date." Here is a nice picture from A. Lange & Sohne with the complete family of all the Lange 1 watches to-date. I thought it was a nice way to reflect on the collection. Below you will find a cool spec chart that discusses each of the models and when they were released. Click on the images (above and below) to make them larger.
My first AP RO
Here are a couple of photos of the newest addition to my watch collection. My very first AP! For the some time, I was torn time between the black and white dials. I've finally decided on the white and I am absolutely loving it. I can't stop admiring it. The way the light catches the different surfaces is simply mesmerizing!
Rolex Singapore moves to put an end to ADs charging a premium
The Singapore Business Times on 1 March reported that Rolex Singapore has written to its ADs to stop charging a premium for their watches. Although no punishment is mentioned for ADs that continue with premiums, I'm guessing they run the risk of losing the Rolex distributorship if caught.Although all of us would welcome this, there are problems, the most obvious being that if ADs in other countries still charge a premium, Singapore ADs will simply send the desirable models overseas. If so, then local customers might end up being worse off because waiting lists here have little value. I've also been told that some ADs have told their customers that they can buy the desirable models such as the S/S Daytona at full MSRP - provided they buy another watch at the same time. This is mentioned in the full report, which is attached below. MOD EDIT: Don't print out whole articles unless you wrote them yourself and own the copyright. Just provide a link. Thanks. And FYI, this story has been rep
Could be the best place to forget my Rolex
A few times a month I will travel about 35 minutes south into Northampton Massachusetts to challenge myself to one of the harder and more demanding yoga studios around. High heat, long difficult poses are the trademark of Shiva Shakti. When the class starts I always take my SS Submariner off and lay it next to me on my shirt, when finished it's the first on. Last week was the usual sweat fest, when the class finished I gathered my things and headed downstairs to change.A few hours later as I am getting ready for bed, I went to take my watch off and my head swirled...I called the studio, long closed for the night but left a message. The next morning the same thing, left another message. A friend is close friends with the owner/yoga teacher and she texted him.It was a beautiful day for skiing, nothing I could do at this point but make the best of it. Around noon my cell rang, they had my watch all along. Some other yogi came upon it and turned it in the night before. I was given the
I dont need no stinking AD.
Performed my first bezel insert swap on my 16710. Although I might have to change back to coke later for the UGA Auburn game. Go dawgs!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
