Six Boutique Dive Watches: The Very Best
Right now, we're in a golden age for dive watches. Companies such as Giovino, Palladium and others have made it possible to start your own company with as few as 400 watches, and the Internet has enabled the global reach that lets a niche company flourish. There are many out there, but for this post I'd like to collect my current favorites, representing a range of styles and prices, and in no particular order.Ocean7 LM-1 PVD with PVD sapphire bezelWhy I like itThis one is kind of like buying a car - tons of options, both pre and post sale.Sapphire bezel. PVD case or cold-hardened steel. Optional chronometer-rated movement. Killer luminosity. Good bracelet. Great price ($1,322 maxed out). User-changeable bezels to mix up the look. Workhorse ETA 2824 movement. What's not to like?Things I dislikeYou can see some distortion from the curvature of the crystal, and I'd prefer just white hands instead of Plongeur style orange. Finally own an AP!!!
After searching high and low and trying out as many AP as i can, i finally pulled the trigger on an AP ROO RGRC. DavidSW is the man! He answered my many questions and work with me to get one of my grail watch. I have a small 6.2 wrist so many AP models i could not wear. But after trying the RGRC, i don't care anymore because it's such a badass watch! Here it is guys...a shot on my small wrist...not bad at all
Any reason this can't be a daily wear??
Hello everyone here at TRF! Earlier this week I took my 5960P out of the safe and put it on the wrist. My intent was just to wear it for a day or so and then put it back away for safekeeping. But a funny thing happened....the longer it was on my wrist, the more I truly loved wearing it.Sure, it's a little heavy, crazy expensive, and lacks a proper degree of water resistance, but the dimensions are perfect and it just feels so right on the wrist. So, is there any reason why it couldn't or shouldn't be a daily wear?

118206 dials
Went to WEMPE NY on 5th today and tried on 36 mm platinum DD, 118206. What a timepiece! Seemed to weigh twice that of my gmt 2 BLNR. Anyone know if I can have Rolex exchange the glacier blue dial from several years ago with newer ice blue dial currently being used? I prefer the darker color but want to stay true to platinum line. Cost? Thanks.
