Who Tested Your Watch? A Guide to the Watch Industry’s Quality Marks
People often wonder just how good their watches are. A quality seal can help provide an answer: it shows that the watch has passed a test for its timekeeping ability and, in some instances, the quality of its finishing. COSC and the Geneva Seal are by far the best-known issuers of quality certificates, but there are many others. Some, like these two, test watches from multiple brands; others, such as the Patek Philippe Seal. Here's a look at 11 quality-testing systems.COSC Certificate:Switzerland's Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronomtres, or COSC, is the best-known watch-certifying organization. The COSC procedure lasts 15 days. Watch companies send their movements to COSC uncased. COSC then assigns each an identification number and its employees apply a generic dial with reference points that help an optical sensor track the watch's seconds hand. Each movement is wound mechanically (automatic movements must remain rotor-less), then given a rest period of 24 hours before testing. The

I'm truly excited to share the newest addition to my collection. I've had my eye on this particular watch for nearly a year and as a new member, I'd like to give my thanks to the forum members who helped guide me along the way. Thank you. A great deal of thanks also needs to be paid to the AD I purchased it from, Armen of Darakjian Jewelers. He was extremely timely and a joy to work with. The watch is absolutely astounding. I can't believe I waited a year to pull the trigger!

5711 rarity?
Hey all,When I was searching for my 5711 blue dial, I couldn't find one in a few countries across Europe nor when I returned to Canada. I've been tracking the online market and some of the popular greys/trusteds have had stock for quite some time. I've seen one trusted seller with 2 blue dial 5711s on hand and they aren't moving fast. I would assume this one would fly off the shelf, any idea why they would be sitting on inventory with this perceived rare watch when there are so many waitlist ADs?Thanks!
Best Entry Level Platinum Leather Strap Patek?
Hey All,Im looking to get a leather strap Patek in the next 6months and was wondering what you thought was the best option in the 30-50k range? Ive looked at 5146p which is around 46k used... as well as 5056p which is 36k used... any other options? Im looking to Platinum as I have a Rose Gold DD2 so looking for something different to Gold.. and I think it'd be pretty neat to have my 1 and only Patek be in Platinum! The 5056p MIGHT be a bit small as all my watches below are 40mm+ in size...This will be the one and only Patek I own.. my current collection is below - Rolex DD2 Rose Gold with Chocolate DialBreitling B01 Blue Dial LTD Edition NavitimerTag Aquaracer Chrono Black DialTag 2 Tone Caribbean Edition Quartz with Blue DialErnst Benz Black Dial Gold Numerals Chronolunar OfficersPhilip Stein Blue Dial PrestigeThanks All!Cass
