Explaining What's Wrong With The Watch Industry In 2014
One of the things that is really important to us at watches-dealer is to discuss more than just what new watches are available and what we think you should consider when making purchasing decisions. No, we aren't going to tell you how to dress or how to be cool, surely you are doing fine when it comes to those things already. Rather, we'd like to talk about the watch industry overall, as well as things you might like to consider as collectors, or simply as people who like to own nice things. The luxury watch industry is a very complicated and interesting entity, and frankly, I've never experienced anything else like it. Despite the billions of dollars involved each year, the watch industry operates unlike most other major verticals out there - but that is entirely a different issue. More salient is the fact that, in many ways, the industry alternates between periods of feast and periods of famine. Essentially, they are "economic bubble chasers" and will seek to go after markets and demo
After some deliberation
So my search for a new timepiece began with looking at the 5167 and 5711. Why Patek, as I have a 15202or and as much as I want it in steel as well, did not think it would be the right way forward. So thought at looking at the other watches in steel. Tried on the 5167r ( as no one had the steel in my city ) and it was an amazingly comfortable watch. Tried on a white dial nautilus 5711 ( again, no one had the blue dial ) and it fit amazingly well on my skinny wrist. Then began doubting myself that 5712 is the way to go. Apart from my desire to go the Patek way, started looking at unique pieces in steel in Audemars. Hence, started looking at the 15305 but the prices apparently have shot up for it, maybe one day. Anyways for the conclusion had seen pictures online of a new Dual Time Novelty being released for SIHH. Wasn't too sure about it as with leather straps I have noticed a gap between my wrist and the strap and it looks too bulky. Its 39mm so thought would give it a try. Called up my

Help needed on bracelet pricing
Hello all,I usually hang around the Rolex discussion, but I have a quick question regarding cost of a Breitling bracelet. A. What is the current retail on a SS 20mm pilot for a Chronomat? The watch is from the late 90's. B. What should I expect to pay for a nice condition (all links included) second hand bracelet? Thanks in advance
Been too long since my last ... INCOMING!!!!
I was thinking Daytona as my next acquisition but haven't even been able to see / try on a Daytona in the flesh, let alone purchase at MSRP.... But I did have the (surprise) opportunity to grab something else I liked, at retail, that I didn't think I'd be able to get either..... Whaddya think is in the Jersey Rock's Box?
