This year marks 125 years since Swiss jeweler Carl Friedrich Bucherer opened up his first watch and jewelry shop in Lucerne, on the way to designing and creating his first timepiece in 1919. To commemorate the anniversary, the modern Carl F. Bucherer watch brand has launched the new Manero Tourbillon Limited Edition.Carl F. Bucherer has created many complicated watches, including models with power-reserve displays, chronographs, and even a perpetual calendar and the company makes its own manufacture movement, but this will be the brand’s first tourbillon timepiece. The hand-wound tourbillon movement, Caliber CFB T1001, makes its debut in the brand’s Manero collection, which CFB describes as emphasizing “classical elegance.” The tourbillon, which is on display in an opening at 6 o’clock on the dial, is obviously the central attraction, but Carl F. Breaking News: General Patton's Watch C A Graduation Gift From His Parents C Sells For $137,000
Remember General Patton's five-minute-repeating, split-second chronograph pocket watch that we covered here back in September? Well, it went up for auction today at Heritage Auctions and sold for a whopping $137,000.The watch was originally purchased for $350 (negotiated down from $600) by General Patton's father, George Patton II as a gift for his son back in 1927. 1 OF 2 The watch was originally estimated for $25,000 to 35,000 and hammered at $137,000, which is no surprise due to the provenance and level of complication. A little hooked on the PO 2209...

315 series movements versus 324 series
I'm considering some annual calendars, some with 324 series movements and some with 315 series. Other than the assumption that a newer movement is improved over the one it replaced, has anybody experienced 315 movement reliability or performance issues that resulted in costly and lengthy repairs? The 315 equipped references I'm considering are 5035, 5036, 5056. Thanks for your comments....
